AB has headlined one US festival, this album cycle. Sure, it was a radio festival, and it took place in Orlando, and they only got one hour (the most that any band is getting on that bill), but at least they headlined.

At Rock on the Range they got the same time spot on Sunday as Chevelle got on Saturday and Seether got on Friday. I think that seems about right to be honest.

I guess this is as good a thread to ask in as any; is "Never Say Die" the only B-side from Fortress?

Well that's rather disappointing, was hoping we'd have more.

I guess Alter Bridge are on a list of bands that broke the sound limits at Soundwave 2014 in Australia. Good on them :)

I looked further into this. Oh no. The festival had to pay a $10k fine for that. Opps. Well then. That comforts me very much in terms of my preparation of protecting as much of my ears as possible for the upcoming concert.
Back in April, Soundwave was forced to forfeit a $10,000 bond to the Adelaide City Council for breaching its Noise Mitigation Standard Operating Procedures, i.e. for being too loud. Originally thought to be a response to complaints from Council residents, it was later revealed that the loss of the bond was due to excessive breaches to permitted noise levels as recorded at the festival.
Looking at specific stage timings, it appears that Avenged Sevenfold, Mastodon, Testament and Alter Bridge were the biggest offenders, as noise limits were most excessively breached during their sets.

They play too loud. I can barely stand seeing them up close because my ears are too sensitive after playing drums without ear protection for a while. That's even with wearing ear plugs.

If that's the case, then I'm twice as excited to see them now. A lot of bands play too quiet these days. For my tastes, anyways

It's not that I don't like loud. But often when I'm at AB concerts you can't even hear what's going on. The only reason I understand what's going on is because I know these songs by heart. I remember not being able to hear what key Isolation was in, the last time I saw them.

Both bands were mentioned in the Soundwave breaking sound limits page, I linked.

They might be about the same, but I've seen AB from up close where A7X has always been from the stands. A7X's live mix sounds a ton better though. It's like what Timo said. If I'm somewhat close to the stage at an AB concert I can barely hear the vocals and guitar leads because the bass is way too loud. I've enjoyed AB shows more when I was sitting back in the stands because I can actually understand Myles from there.

And you guys will appreciate bands who don't break sound limits more after you see a bunch of bands and develop early stages of tinnitus like I have. :P Trust me, wear ear plugs if you don't already. One loud concert can tear you up.

Hurray for picking nosebleeds seats at the Wiltern show! I'll be honest. I picked them because they are cheap as well.

Well I usually sit in the stands when I'm outside. When you're indoors it doesn't matter as much since the sound gets trapped lol.

Alter Bridge wasn't loud in Hamburg.. Myles complained a few times that it felt like he was playing in his bedroom and his parents started complaining. Haha.
