LOVER is the next single

Honestly I respect this choice fully. In all honesty Cry a River is my most favorite on the album. Next to Fortress and Lover, Fortress = To long. Lover = A bit weird, but still amazing for a single.

All Ends Well would be perfect too. Just my two cents. But this is why I'm not releasing singles for the band. The more I consider Lover being next single. The more I love the idea...so they got my like aswell. I'm hoping for a US Release.

I can see a couple of ways to produce radio edits and still not hurt the song too much.

Clipping the beginning intro a bit, removing the repeat part of the bridge.

I can see ending the song at the 4:12 mark.

Outright doesn't do a good job of showcasing AB's true ability IMO, while it's a great song, Lover is a better choice.

What are you guys expecting for this second single and beyond? - Personally, I'm finding it hard to really get excited as... I feel like these days it's the lead single that gets the biggest push, and once the lead single is out it's almost like things just start going through the motions really. Like with AB3 - Isolation did well but then the likes of I Know It Hurts and Ghost of Days Gone fizzled out soon after release.

What matters is the promotion. If they don't promote Lover well, make a music video, for instance... It'll fade soon, which would be a real shame 'cause that song is powerful.

I don't see why some people are wishing for other songs as the single really, Lover is a fantastic choice. It's a monster of a song that has a radio-ish length (obviously there will be some cuts), it's catchy as hell, and it definitely shows all of AB's talents. Calm the Fire and Cry of Achilles may be better songs to some people, but Lover is just as great and it's completely different from anything else you'll hear on the radio.

Lover is a pretty smart choice, though I'm still hoping the band takes a risk and releases either Cry of Achilles or Calm the Fire as the third single.
