So now that Fortress is available for us hear, what's everyone's favorite song and why? Discuss! I made it to where you can change your vote because I'm sure different songs will grow on us and our favorite song might change.

It's far too early to tell but as I clicked on this thread the intro to Farther Than the Sun kicked. I had no choice to obey it's hugeness and choose that.

I'm choosing "Cry of Achilles" for now. That may change at some point, but for now it's perfect. I can't find a single flaw with it. Dynamic, heavy, melodic, and instrumentally impressive. As others have said, it may give "Blackbird" a run for its money.

It's too soon but for now I'll choose Calm The Fire. It's a tie between that song and Cry Of Achilles.

Listening back to those two I gotta go with 'Calm The Fire'. Unique song in the AB catalogue and I believe it's the best amalgamation of Myles effects laden guitar style with Mark's rapid fire riffage. It's the perfect weave of their distinct guitar styles at the top of their game. One of the best choruses on the album, too.

I said straight off that I thought Cry of Achilles may have topped Blackbird for me.

So imagine my puzzlement that I still don't know my favourite song from the album.

Calm The Fire has the best intro, best chorus and the most unique riff of the entire album imo..

At least that's what I remember after my first listen

Their guitar work in the verses in Calm the Fire was amazing, and the little synth line underneath was joyous.

I can't pick a favourite yet, but I think The Uninvited is the sleeper of the album. That song kills and I think it'll end up being at the top for me. The No Quarter reference in that one review is spot on.
