I just read this interview, in which Mark talks a bit about the DVD:
http://www.toddstarphotography.com/blog ... ember-2013

Specifically, it looks like it will include:
  • A 45-minute documentary about the making of Fortress
  • Mark and Myles Kennedy each teaching their individual solos on the album
  • Mark and Myles sitting together, teaching the thyrhm parts from the record
Can't wait to learn this album :headbang

All I gotta say is, it better come with a full size tab book like the previous albums lol. THAT would be awesome. I would totally drop an extra $10-15 on the DVD to make that happen. TAKE MY FUCKING MONEY!!!!!!

Don't know if the DVD will come with the tab book, but I do know Tim Tournier (works for FretXii and is the guitarist from Man The Mighty) is doing the tab book right now, and he said Mark will check it when it's done. So one way or another there will be an official tab book out for Fortress.
Another photobucket casualty... :(

Alright, this is a question for anyone on here who plays guitar and plans on buying this DVD. What 3 things from Fortress are you MOST excited to learn. I'm not talking about songs in general, but specific parts to songs. Me personally, in order:
1. Bleed it Dry solo
2. The Uninvited intro/verse riff
3. Cry of Achilles nylon guitar intro

I know..the clean intro, sick riff, crazy breakdown, and 4 SOLOS. That's a lot to learn

The high pitched stuff in Cry of Achilles before "this is not the end" sounds fun. And yeah, Fortress. And Cry of Achilles in general.

I can confirm that the tabs WILL come with the DVD, you won't have to buy them seperately. Fret 12 just responded to me on twitter

Hey everyone!

The dvd is an hour documentary on the record and the full record taught by Mark and Myles - Solos - Fills - the works.

Im doing a full book for the record now but it will not be a full size book, the book itself will be the size of a dvd case and will be attached to the outside of the dvd case as the book is way to big to fit into the case itself.

Im taking a different direction on this book then most traditional books - Im breaking down each part and writing it out so its easy to learn and not just a full song on a few pages - like a work book...

Breaking the songs down to each part by each player... i think it will be cooler that way.. unless yall think it would be lame - in which case I can do it the old school way.posting.php?mode=reply&f=8&t=1578#

That way sounds awesome to me, like a companion to the DVD rather than just an addition.

Can't wait, thanks for the update!
