Macca's Approval!
Macca's Approval!
Guys I got here as quick as I could. Some of us have heard AB's new single ATP and as amazing as that fact is, I have something more amazing to share with you. I was minding my own business on Facebook when I caught wind of the single via Merinda. Next thing I know Macca's heard it as well.
Here's what he had to say:
Historic. It must be good. It's the the Macca seal of approval ffs.

Re: Macca's Approval!
Got it already
I don't use bit otrrent or any means to pirate stuff, youtube is as far as I go.
I just wish that one day people will learn a lesson....if its done, just put it on itunes or something, stop with the release dates.
The song is good, heavy, feels like a departure. Myles is angry

Re: Macca's Approval!
Right now i'm feeling the chorus 'addicted to pain....' could have done with some Mark in the background....
It sounds thicker than previous efforts.
Marks solo sounds a little low in the mix.

Believe me, I don't want to be Captain Buzzkill. I'm just as excited as everyone else. But.. please, remember the rules of the forum, which include NO LINKS TO UNOFFICIAL LEAKS and NO OFFERS TO SEND THE SONG IN ILLEGAL CHANNELS. Talk about the song all you want -- even the fact it's up on Youtube if you must. But no links, and no offers to downloads / uploads. Thank you drive thru
Re: Macca's Approval!
Overcautious.
Just seems odd you won't even allow Youtube link despite allowing people to say it's on Youtube.
I mean it's Youtube.....just seems very.....music industry of you lol

@ Harry©: as a fansite, we have a good relationship with the band, its member and its label(s). We like to keep it that way by obliging to their rules on sharing "illegal" content.

Yup.Harry© wrote:I mean it's Youtube.....just seems very.....music industry of you lol
All we can do is stop people from posting links and offering to share the file. We can't prevent people from going out and finding it on their own.

No offense but I KNEW someone was going to say that.axlar wrote:@ Harry©: as a fansite, we have a good relationship with the band, its member and its label(s). We like to keep it that way by obliging to their rules on sharing "illegal" content.
I heard it years ago.
It's almost as if you let links happen like a normal community does then you end this 'special friendship' you have that makes you so important.
I just think it's like the british government trying to disable my porn supply
Re: Macca's Approval!
lol Harry.. we dont mind links to bootlegs, concerts, etc. Just when it comes to official recordings, especially before a release date, we need to be more strict.

Re: Macca's Approval!
Just going to put it out there..... Who do you think leaks this stuff? Are we to believe someone from the label is risking their job just so a few AB fans can have an early listen? Hahaha. This shit is done on purpose.
Re: Macca's Approval!
It was probably sent to a radio station in advance of next week, and it got given out to some pesky russian.
For all of the hope that it brings...
Re: Macca's Approval!
I don't think it's overcautious. I don't know the piracy laws, but it may even be illegal to allow people to discuss the song as it could fall under procuring or encouraging people to download the song. Although I can't imagine a label would waste their time and resources threatening legal actionHarry© wrote:Overcautious.

It's just viral marketing.
The label releases the song, and then pretends it was leaked.
A few fans think they're lucky to hear it, and spread the good word about the said song for a few days/weeks before the actual release.
That's how you create buzz these days.

Re: Macca's Approval!
Either way, this board can't be the one sharing it. I've been involved here, as many people know, and on other fansites where leaks have been posted. An example of how crabby record labels can get is a Rammstein fansite I was involved with being sued (unsuccessfully in the end) for 200,000 USD over concert images fans had taken at shows.
As the rules of the board clearly say, even though the band members themselves might say some forms of sharing are OK, it is not Mark, Myles, Flip and Brian that own the copyright on their recordings, it is the respective record labels (and with AB it's a few labels by now!). Our administrators are the people responsible for the site's compliance with the law, and it's within their rights to protect themselves and the board in any way they feel appropriate, whether it is popular or not.
I've not heard the song either, it was taken down before I could hear it, but it's not realistic to expect this place to take the risk of being closed down or for those responsible for the board being in trouble to hear a song 6 days before the preview.
