I managed to convert one guy into a fan. but looking at the majority of the posts, Alter Bridge is gaining a lot of respect in the Rock and Metal community.

For those that are too lazy to register to see the thread i'm posting some of the responses.

Never heard of 'em. I knew at that the guys from Creed had formed a new band. But I hated them so bad that I wasn't about to give any spinoff the time of day...that's probably how I missed them. So I checked 'em out on Spotify. Just listening to the top tracks on Spotify...couple of different albums. HOLY FUCK! I'm a fan!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that it will sound just like the other three albums.

Slightly above mediocre corporate rock written solely to get on Clear Channels playlist. But, it's going to be the album of the year.

I don't see this thread gaining much mileage, because all it is going to do is get us angry which is not really necessary while we have all of this good energy and momentum heading towards Fortress release and album tour.

That said while we're on the subject, I, too, posted an AB thread in another fourm. A Rush forum. I only had one response and it is pretty much, a good response. Myles is great at vocals, Mark is great at guitars. The fans are pretty passionate and sings along with the songs. Overall, that post pretty much says Alter Bridge is where it should be at for Mark, Myles, Flip, and Brian, musically.

I'm seeing this whole "Those guys whish they could write like Scott Stapp" is clouding my judgement of everything else. Gets the blood boiling in a not good manner. Plus, that dude spell wish wrong. Like he is in the good position to judge how people write if he can't write a proper sentence.

I wouldn't get too worked up about the negative comments on that board. If I remember correctly, it has a pretty bad reputation for being a site full of trolls anyways and even musicians comment on how stupid the people there can be. It's nice to see that more and more people are becoming fans of AB though, that's always a good thing!

Yeah, I'm confused about what the comment about wishing they could write like Stapp was directed at, and what it had to do with the Moistboyz. (wtactualf is that?)

Yeah I tend to give guys a break with band members' names. I don't know every member of every band I listen to. But it would've been 10 seconds worth of research if he wasn't sure.
