Primary Lyrical Writing On AB4..?
Primary Lyrical Writing On AB4..?
We pretty much all know the writing history of the Alter Bridge albums/songs.. So I'm wondering, does anyone have a certain favourite lyrical writing style?
- Do you prefer it to be purely Mark's writing, like on One Day Remains and All I Was...?
- Do you prefer it be a strong mix of Mark & Myles like on Blackbird..?
- Do you prefer Myles seemingly taking the reigns like on ABIII.....?
(obviously the rest of the guys had their input throughout..)
So whose style do you like most, and wanna see on their 4th album?

I hope it will be mainly Myles. But ofcourse I'd be okay with a mix of Mark/Myles.
I'd love to hear some lyrics from Brian though

Whole band can provide input, but Mark is the best with lyrics in that band.

Mark no doubt.
Myles lyrics are pretty cliche lately. Mark is pretty general with his too, but he tends to write less cringey lyrics. I think ODR had the best of all 3 and I think Mark wrote 90% - I hope they do that... but they won't.

Myles tends to write stuff that I can relate to more, even on his stuff with Slash (which I admit were pretty cliche). That's pretty much the reason why I'd rather want Myles to do the most of it.

Re: Primary Lyrical Writing On AB4..?
yeah I felt like I related more towards All I was. But even songs like Still Remains, WDTTW, and Isolation were close to me personally
Re: Primary Lyrical Writing On AB4..?
I prefer Mark's too.

Mark and Myles. I generally prefer Mark's lyrics, but like Timmy said, I feel I can relate to Myles' more.

I thought Myles wrote all the Blackbird lyrics as well?
Myles for me.
Myles for me.
For all of the hope that it brings...
Re: Primary Lyrical Writing On AB4..?
I'm saying both too. Blackbird was superb all over... Uplifting and positive lyrical content works well for them. I don't like "sad and depressing" Alter Bridge like most of ABIII

I voted for both of them as well. I just loved All I was and I forgot how good Mark was at writing lyrics. Myles is great to and the subject is somewhat similar between them but Mark has a more uplifting way of saying things to me

You find All I Was uplifting?
For all of the hope that it brings...
Re: Primary Lyrical Writing On AB4..?
I'd like MARK to write every lyric and note sang and played.
Re: Primary Lyrical Writing On AB4..?
Yes All I WAS is very uplifting, totally agree.Cthree922012 wrote:I voted for both of them as well. I just loved All I was and I forgot how good Mark was at writing lyrics. Myles is great to and the subject is somewhat similar between them but Mark has a more uplifting way of saying things to me
