I'm sorry, let me restate that. Obviously, if a review has nothing but buzz words (epic, heaviest stuff they have ever done, their best album ever), it is not going to ruin my enjoyment when I listen to it when I purchase it since I always hear those words. However, if I see a fan review that specifically describes the songs and their opinions, then I'm going to avoid that.

Yeah, that kind of review are just buzz words that we all have heard before in past album reviews. How something a little more specific about the sound. Like, how is Myles sounding, tone-wise? Anything to look for in Mark's guitar playing? Is Flip in good rhythm? Is Brian's bass pretty visible to notice?

Those are the kind of things to look at to construct a good review.

So you've given up your pre-release abstinence, I gather?

Nope, I'm stating what should be in a good review and not create a review based on buzz words. That does not imply that I am going to read it.

Would you say that "addicted to pain" is typical of the sound on the album, or like "isolation" was on AB3,.....kind of a stand alone single.....with the rest being somewhat different?

Think it's time for a review thread?

Man, I hope this is the case. To be honest, "Addicted to Pain" disappointed me a little bit. While it's a good song, it's not great IMO. It does sound like one of Tremonti's songs with just Myles vocals over the top. I hope the entire album is just not head banging material. Alter Bridge is far and away my favorite band and given their previous albums, I hope I'll be pleasantly surprised.

usually the 1st singles are the best for the radio (with any given band). I wouldn't expect a whole album of songs that sound like ATP. The 1st and Last song are over 7 minutes. Another song with Mark on vocals. There is a song called Lover... You will be very surprised my friend

So about these pictures...



In this one they're playing guitar and we can only assume they're (or at least Myles is) singing. Clearly, from the microphone above them, they're being recorded.

Then in this picture...



...they're sitting down and being interviewed in the same room. I commented on the post from metalingus.de, the group that did this interview, and asked if we were going to see the footage from the live performance. They said "No, we just made an interview." So I'm guessing they must not have gotten permission to use video of the live performance? Or they got a live performance and didn't film it? But then like... microphones and stuff?

My inner investigative reporter is very confused.

I'm gonna guess the interviewing crew wasn't the same group that recorded the acoustic performance(s). Whoever has the rights to that might release it later.

To elucidate the issues.

I was at this interview here and can report first hand.
The recording session took place before our interview.
Whether and when this will be published, is not certain at present.
If I hadn't heard wrong, "Addicted To Pain", "All Hope Is Gone" and another track was recorded.
