The 'Shout-out' Thread

Re: The 'Shout-out' Thread
s/o to bridge in fortress. The "ohhhh there will come a time" love how he sings that
Re: The 'Shout-out' Thread
LOL. I think it flows alright, especially if you mash the two lines together.Jim wrote:Yeah i kinda did.. The next line just does not flow, whatsoever. It's like a whole other sentence
"If you deny the wounds of your lover, you will discover that what you had is shattered and wasted. Did you have to take it so far?""
Re: The 'Shout-out' Thread
So pretty much my entire review in the Fortress member review thread is a bunch of mashed up shout-outs. But I'll give this a shot...
Shout-out to the subtle guitar leads that are layered on during the end of the second verse in "Cry of Achilles".

My current shout out is to Scott Phillips. Damn fine job Scott, damn fine.
Re: The 'Shout-out' Thread
Shout out to management (how often does that get said around here) for the strategic and superbly executed stream. Instead of letting it leak, got some great press and chose a couple great sites.
Re: The 'Shout-out' Thread
One of my favorite parts of the album is the fortress bridge hands down. That's blackbird Myles right there. Great lyrics and great sounding. Fortress is becoming my #2 favorite. Nothin will top achilles but damn fortress deserves much more credit

I love how Myles sings "Staring down the end of time, every fear is realized oh oh ohhhhhhhhh"

Think they were from Wales
Re: The 'Shout-out' Thread
Shout out to the last three lines in Cry of Achilles and how the backing vocals in between the lines makes the ending extremely epic!

Shout-out to the weird looks I gained on the train this morning when I was listening to Fortress on my mp3 for the first time!

Shout out also to the bridge of Fortress... it's by far my favorite of the record
Re: The 'Shout-out' Thread
Has anyone mentioned what sounds like Brian mirroring the flamenco pull off part at the beginning of the quieter part of Cry of Achilles? It's a bit quiet on my headphones but I'm sure that's it and it sounds awesome.
For all of the hope that it brings...
Re: The 'Shout-out' Thread
Calm The Fire pre-chorus. Amazing.
Also probably the best chorus on the album. Excellent song, and lyrics too.
