Listen to Fortress!
Re: Listen to Fortress!
After listening once I am perplexed. I get that this was supposed to be a heavier CD which I love but my complaint has to do with the chorus's. It has always been AB's weakness. Great intros, great guitar, very weak hooks. I really dont understand the arrangement of some of these songs. A prefect example would be "The Uninivted" The song starts out great and then when the hook and chorus kick in its blah. Im not trying to be picky but Isolation and Addicted to pain are some of the best hooks and intros in an AB song. So far I'm not feeling this CD. Its hard to judge after once listen but man I was expecting way more from these guys. This CD just doesnt really come close to ABIII and Blackbird. I even think One Day Remains may be better.IMO

The fact that you clearly think of ODR as being the bottom of the previous 3 instantly invalidates your opinionjripper420 wrote:After listening once I am perplexed. There isn't one song on this new album that compares to Metalingus IMO
Re: Listen to Fortress!
ODR, as a whole, is not their worst album, there's absolutely no way. New order for me personally does like this: Fortress, Blackbird, ODR, and ABIII gets absolutely slaughtered by the top three.

Well... this is definitely their most energetic and spontaneous record, that's for sure. I think there's something in every song that's caught me off guard. I love it so far.

Does anyone have them on MP3 yet?
Re: Listen to Fortress!
Police car just whizzed by my window with sirens on, and it harmonised perfectly with the chorus of Fortress. Universe is aligning.
For all of the hope that it brings...

I LOVE the Jeff Buckley style vocals in the intro to "Calm the Fire."
