Lover Official Music Video Contest

Hmmm, a couple of notes. Apparently, this participant was a finalist in doing Three Days Grace's Misery Loves My Company video (that one actually makes a little more sense than the Lover video). The winner in that contest got $5,000.

As for the video, I like the parts with the dancers, and the little girl, and man in the bed. The scenes with the boxers though just does not make sense to me although I don't mind them punching each other and ripping pillows in front of the man in the bed.

Yeah thinking back about it I'm not sure how that fits in either. Yeah it's pretty good. I like the way that each person in the video are isolated at the beginning but are all linked together by the end in some ways.

It was pretty good, still think a few band shots here an there would be cool, but i get that it wont happen, so i should accept what we're getting is what we're getting.

I mean from a visual point, it's pretty good. I feel like if you put the Fortress shed anywhere in the shots, this guy took, it would not be out of place. Also, I'm surprised this person, if this person did shoot it upclose, manages to get a good shot of fire. I thought you need permits or some safety procedures before doing that, and I thought no way people would authorize shooting that just for a video contest.

The only problem is that there is no coherent story that goes with the lyrics of Lover. Other than that, it's a nice visual looking video. It's very desolate and all.

While I appreciate the effort, I honestly don't like neither of the videos. The main problem here is that people can't manage to understand the true meaning behind Lover lyrics. Everyone has a different meaning and of course the result is different.

Vid #1 - Has major potential but the boxers fighting each other just ruins it for me.
Vid #2 - reminds me of a discovery channel documentary.. no thanks
Vid #3- I think its okay but it really isn't that creative.

I'm looking forward to seeing the other videos but so far I'm not blown away

All right, well, that video is probably the best out of the bunch so far in terms of timing with the song, the story that goes with it. I enjoy the part at the bridge where they stacked the boxes and both sides were pushing and yelling at each other with it. So yeah. It's good. Is it enough to be a winner? I need to see more.

Someone can do something like that for Cry of Achilles. This song requires a different vibe. More darker, subtle, and loads of betray and heartbreak.

how good did you guys think these videos were going to be?

I was expecting any video that tried to look professional with a lot of acting to fall flat. Because most music videos shot by major labels that have a lot of acting fall flat lol. I was expecting 1 or 2 of them to be more creative without trying too hard with actors though. I think so far the ideas just haven't been very good.
