Has anybody figured out what they are playing at 3:56?
I just can't figure it out.

It's the bridge.. Quite simply. Mark appears to play it maybe an octave higher to harmonise but it just sounds like the bridge chords.

The song is actually based on classical song Bourrée in E Minor by Seabastian Bach.. So maybe you're hearing something from that?

I think Myles is doing:

Code: Select all

-(0)-(0)---(0)-(0)--------------------------
-(0)-(0)---(0)-(0)--------------------------
-12--11----7---9---------------------------
-0---0-----0---0? -------------------------
-x---x-----x---x----------------------------
-10-10-----7---8---------------------------
(not sure what happens at the D string at the last chord, I think he plays it open, but it doesn't sound so good on my guitar)

I think Mark does something similar, but it sounds higher because he plays on a 12-string guitar.
I'm not sure if they play the high E and B string open. I think Mark does. Anyway, it sounds pretty good on my guitar..

There is definitely A octave there (tuning 1/2 step down of course), but as Jim's said, one of them appers to play it higher.

Thank you very much, sounds about right without the open strings. I think you really need the 12-string to get that awesome sounding effect.

Yeah the 12 string really made Mark's acoustic performances special. Shame really

Is Myles using a guitar with steel or nylon strings on this song? It looks like steel but the tone is amazing, not as metallic as it usually sounds.

I'd say steel, if it was nylon I think you'd see the bottom strings more clearly.
