Re: Walk The Sky 2.0
Close to a year after it's release, Native Son has finally grown on me! I've hummed and sang that chorus all day for the past week! I enjoyed the music video made for the song and have only heard positive things about the live recording from WTS 2.0. I still can't seem to find it to listen to anywhere!

I say that Crows on a Wire is that, melodically speaking ahaha.Ubik wrote:Given its lockdown origins, I'm hoping for a spiritual successor to Isolation. The bridge of which, having just been listening to it, is still one of the best things they've ever written!
Oh, come on!
I finally heard the live version of Native Son on YT.
Now nothing remines.

Changing vowels makes it easier to sing, especially night after night and to not struggle throughout the same night.

Just sing the words how you wrote them
I notice neither of you changed any vowels in your posts.

Wow, does he actually say that?zazthespaz wrote:Now nothing renamesgbruin wrote:I notice neither of you changed any vowels in your posts.
Zaz uses better words than I do
No. It sounds more like "remines". But "renames" (and "rephrase") carries much more meaning integral to the issue.MuffinMcFluffin wrote:Wow, does he actually say that?zazthespaz wrote:Now nothing renamesgbruin wrote:I notice neither of you changed any vowels in your posts.

Re: Oh, come on!
My working theory is that Myles developed some voice-saving habits while singing for Slash (I am almost sure that it's because of the Guns'n'Roses stuff) and for some reason he keep using them with Alter Bridge (I didn't hear a lot of this habits on the records from his solo album tour).gbruin wrote:I finally heard the live version of Native Son on YT.

Also Mark sounds really great and pleasant to ears in the chorus. I read today that he is taking vocal lessons and yeah, you can hear it. Myles obviously should have a vocal coach too – trying to save your voice is good, but when it noticeably impacts your vocal perfomance in a negative way, something should be done.
Re: Walk The Sky 2.0
I doubt it's just from playing with Slash. That's a generally accepted way of saving your voice and he's almost 51. I doubt that will stop.
Edit: And he has trained with Ron Anderson, one of the biggest names for vocal coaches. I'm positive that he learned this from Ron.

Re: Walk The Sky 2.0
I wonder if 2.0 WTS is remixed/remastered somewhat to sound sonically better...that would be nice, and they are aware of the negative feedback! (Ahem, I got blocked by Elvis on Twitter for some gentle constructive feedback)

Re: Walk The Sky 2.0
You beat me to it by 5 minutes you dick! Seriously though that article has gotten me a lot more pumped for Last Rites than I initially was.. really heavy with Alice in chains like vocals between mark and myles. Can't wait to hear me some new AB in a week!
