Re: AB V
C. Alter Bridge is part time
I'm really interested in how this album turns out. Mark said last times their ideas turned towards the heavy side but that he has some different ideas for this one. Kinda hope this doesn't mean a bunch of Lover/Peace is Broken/Calm the Fire type tracks. There's nothing wrong with them at all, I just never listen to them.

I would honestly be stoked with 13 different tracks all in the vein of Lover.

You should listen to Opeth more.Timotheus wrote:Lol, an acoustic intro in a heavy song. So confusing.
Myles had the intro, Mark liked it and the entire song grew from there. It's one of those rare moments where they actually sat together and wrote something on the spot.

I agree. Absolutely love Burn It Down and Lover. When I heard the first 30 seconds of Lover the first time (when Mark plays that blues lead) I knew it would be a favorite.

12 years ago when playing Slash's music hadn't made him sing as highly as he has for 7 years..psycosquirrel789 wrote:Definitely one of Myles' finest vocal performances.Electricladyland wrote:Burn It Down to me is still a top 10 AB song after all these years

There was a certain smoothness in his voice back then that you don't hear anymore.
The ODR vocals are just godly.

Re: AB V
Myles' voice sure has changed, but I really get the feeling that about half of this had to do with Ben Grosse producing the record as opposed to Elvis. I've heard a good few albums where Ben gets some really great vocal tones out of artists. Myles' voice is so processed through everything that Elvis does that we can't even hear it shine the way it's supposed to.chtimixeur wrote:There was a certain smoothness in his voice back then that you don't hear anymore.

I agree. I love the Fuel album, and the Sevendust album that Grosse did. Great vocals on both.
