Cost doesn't matter. Not sure why people keep getting that confused. The money is not for reimbursement. It's also not a budget. It's prize money. That and the exposure it would get them, to be able to put that on a résumé. That's the real prize.

All right, it's pretty good. I enjoy the part where the main guy destroyed the TV with the sledgehammer.

unfortunately I'm pretty sure genero picks 5 or 6 finalist and then the band chooses the best of the six as the winner. They don't have to watch all of the videos.

Thanks for the feedback anguyen92. The TV part is probably my fav part of the whole thing (btw, hope your second comment doesn't come true although constructive feedback would be nice).

Will, I only hope that the vid at least makes it as a finalist then! But... I have no idea where my vid stacks against the others. I guess we'll find out soon. Either way, it was a fun, challenging project.

Saw this last week and I happen to agree with you. If I were judging I would choose this as winner

That one is pretty good actually. Wasn't trying to force a story, kept the acting pretty simple. The visuals were really good, and the guitar playing makes it more like a traditional video. He found a pretty good "Fortress" to use to symbolize the house as well. There's a ton I haven't watched yet, but that's my favorite of the ones I've seen so far.

Exactly! Why they felt the need to add the guitar playing I have no idea. It looks like they made a music video for their own band and then just added Lover over top of it. The more I see it the more I hate it.

Of this ones I watched I liked the chain/lock/key one the best (http://genero.tv/watch-video/38265).

I like the Russian dance one too. Had really hoped for a dance interpretation of the song because it's perfect for that, but I can't complain since I can't dance, act, or film myself!

You can tell there's some good equipment used for it but I felt like it needed more artsy metaphors or something than just a straight up couple's quarrel.

Thanks for the feedback. I couldn't agree more... Now that I've seen other videos, I know that I need to think bigger in the future (in terms of story, themes, production value). I've accepted that I won't win this but I'll definitely try to enter one of Genero's other contests in the future and apply what I've learned. It's too bad they couldn't announce the Cry of Achilles contest a little later! I would've loved to do that much more than Lover...
