Next Projected album already in the works!

Post by TenaciousBe »

I knew they had more ideas in the bank, but this is pretty cool. My friend posted to John on Facebook last night about the upcoming Johnny Damon show, and this was his response:
Nice thing is I'm tracking vocals for the new Projected record all week so my voice will be in mode. Gonna track the opener tomorrow morning.
Had no idea they'd already be tracking new songs! Excitement abounds :rockon

Projected is nothing special IMHO. Their debut was really weak. BTW, how Flip is gonna take part in it since he is working with AB at the moment?

Well, Flip will be working on AB this month, but Slash and Tremonti will be touring in february. They'll probably start recording the album somewhere in march (considering Slash and Myles have got a date in Austalia on the 5th of may). Not sure how they're going to do that, but I think Slash will be touring a bit more in the summer, so Flip's got plenty of time to work with Projected.

If I remember correctly there was a picture posted by Jeff Moll stating that he would work with Erock and Garrett Whitlock in the coming days... maybe Garrett is taking over for Flip on the next record?

I wondered about that, but part of me thinks Flip will still be the drummer for the band. I'm curious as to what Erock and Garrett were working on the other day though.

Wow... I had no idea they were tracking for a new album! Garrett and Eric were tracking for a solo artist named Melissa Burnos btw.

What are they trying to accomplish with this band? Releasing a second album and having only played one show seems strange

Yeah, this whole thing kind of started as a few friends getting together to jam, and they decided they were enjoying the new songs they put together so much they'd record them and put them out as an album.

As to my original post here - I'm thinking he was talking more about recording some new demos rather than tracking for an official new album already. Just cool to know they're working towards getting more songs in the bank for another album down the road :)

Asked John a few days ago on Facebook if he's been working on any more Projected songs and he said he was actually working on vocal demos that day. I'd expect these guys to hit the studio again after AB and Sevendust finish their touring cycles. Who knows what may happen between now and October since Flip will be free though.

I think John has a lot of demos done for it. Just waiting for some time to put something together I guess. Sevendust has been touring a lot this year.

How can they be recording when Friedman tours with Tremonti?

Tremonti isn't on the road right now. Erock's birthday just passed and he was with his family.

not all parts are recorded at the same time. Also Eric is in Cali where John is in Florida... I'm sure Eric wil either be flying out sometime to do his parts, or John records Eric's parts.. who knows..
