Same for the ridiculous brickwalling on every rock album since 1995.
Just because it's become the new industry standard does not make it right whatsoever for listeners.
Obviously not. It's just that Stapp isn't the kind of guy that would be trying to break the mould having tried to repair his solo career for years now, always adhering to current standards.

Stapp doesn't really have a solo career in my eyes. His concerts are Creed coverband shows. That's why his solo career never took off, because he never have the courage in his own solo material to play them live.

Might be. But I think the main issue is that his solo stuff just isn't good enough. He and his songwriters never really managed to write some creative stuff. He's releasing the same type of standard stadium rock music for nearly 20 years now.

Deadman's Trigger is out. This one doesn't sound memorable. Again the vocal sound secondary. Scott should work with other producer next time.

I doubt it'll happen but it would be cool to see Stapp and Mark work with a different producer. Michael Beinhorn would be really interesting for Alter Bridge, and I'd want Dave Fortman or Brendan O' Brien for Creed.

Lyric video to Deadman's Trigger. This song, like Black Butterfly was cowritten with Kevin Gruft who also worked with Stapp on Purpose for Pain. It seems like Stapp is really trying to tap into a genuine chemistry again. I know the singles from this album haven't really hit with this forum but if nothing else I think his next record will. Provided he expands upon 1 to 1 collaboration. I'm still waiting for the drop date to listen

I like this song. it's overproduced as well but still good radio rock. The music video uses AI art though

Well, this album won't be for me. I'm not enjoying any of those songs.
It's overproduced butt rock at its worst.
Boring, formulaic and lifeless.
What does he expect with such generic music?

Well, it fits right in with the current music trends, that's exactly what he expects.

Its very modern. Musically this sounds like so many bands Octane plays.

It's a good song. Not mind blowing, but a solid radio rock song. I'm afraid this is the best we can expect from Scott and his songwriters.

What I want from stapps next solo record was the few moments of excellence he's shown over his past three records. Songs like Red Clouds, Surround me, and Who I Am. but instead we get this kind of overproduced radio rock that's not really good but not bad either.

I like all his solo albums but if he wants to channel that Creed energy he needs to collaborate with his band. I'm just grateful he gave Yiannis a shot this record. I know people here aren't fond of Black Butterfly or Deadman's Trigger but I also think working with Kevin Gruft is a good idea. Purpose for Pain was cool

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iZWRJSklaYk don't know where to put this since it is solo and Creed related.
Some interesting things to note
1)His solo tour will focus mainly on his aolo songs with 3 to 4 Creed songs.
2) There is another version of Higher waiting to to release
3) Creed tour may feature Scott and Mark solo works as well
4) Some new solo songs would be acoustic

It is a really good interview. I liked that he mentioned Alter Bridge and also mentioning a possibility for a Creed-Alter Bridge-Scott Stapp solo concert.

I wonder how the other version of Higher sounds.

Yo that's my radio station!!! That's the DJ who hosted the Meet and Greet with Stapp in 2019. He asked some amazing questions here. I think some Tremonti/Stapp songs could work in a Creed set. Especially anything off The Great Divide or One Day Remains. But if anything I'd be most interested in a new Creed song or two in the setlist. Glad he's gonna shift the focus to solo material for his next tour

Thinking about it a little more. If they want to do more variety of songs, I’d rather more Deep Cuts in Creed’s catalogue like To Whom It May Concern, Is This The End, or On My Sleeve. But a one off Creed-AlterBridge-Solo would be cool.
