Stapp probably couldn't do that. WU has been holding his royalties and not paying him. That's why he's suing them. That's why he hasn't released a second album. That may be why Creed didn't record this summer.

I personally, believe that Stapp knows AB is close to going big, and they will leave him behind. Not that they will leave Creed behind. But, changed or not, Stapp can't get over the fact that Mark, is building his brand beyond Creed. And he is resentful of the the other guys, having what he don't, success outside of Creed. His still blames others for his short comings in my opinion. And until he can get a solo career going he will always feel resent. By the way I still don't believe The Great Devide sold a million copies. Just my two cents on this subject.

Stapp can't support a band that is "stealing" time that, in his mind, should be devoted to Creed.

The only thing I don't agree with is the fact that Ab is close to going big.
Don't kid yourself : they've peaked, just like every other band after 3 albums.
They will never achieve massive success in the USA. It's just a bit too late, and IMHO, they're all past their prime creatively (just to be clear, I also think "new Stapp" will never be as good as "old Stapp").

Not trying to be a dick about Stapp, but to many people think he's a victim. I think if he where to look in the mirror, he would see that he was, or is his own worst enemy. Writing a book and blaming things on Mark, or anyone else is kind of petty.

This. There are some admissions of guilt in the book, but then he goes right back to "Well it started because they stabbed me in the back...", etc. This is a book wherein Stapp simply makes excuses for himself. It's interesting that he left out so many very well-known incidents -- probably the biggest being showing up wasted to this Casino TV show (see video below), or the bar fight with 311 -- so he didn't have to explain his behavior. This book is nothing more than a plea for people to still give a shit about his life.

I am not complaining about people supporting AB on this site. I was merely pointing out the huge amount of bias and blindness there is towards AB and possible faults of its member's. Also, do not forget that this is in the Creed board where one would assume said cock sucking towards AB would be a little less abundant. Apparently AB fans can't have proper conversations w/o insulting the other person.

Just to say something about one point - I don't know if Alter Bridge have "peaked"... although that's not to say they're ever going to become "huge" or as big as US Creed - it's only because they are still small enough there is room for them to get bigger, even in the rock market of today. More people I speak to know who Alter Bridge is now than they did a few years ago. Their last tour here in the UK was in bigger venues than ever before, Isolation did better on US radio than any of their singles did before, Myles Kennedy is becoming a more well known name due to Slash. So I don't see any reason they can't continue their slow progress of becoming a bigger band, little by little. It may not happen but it's not that unlikely.

But enough about that. I haven't got this book but just based on what I've seen from it I think there is definitely resentment about Alter Bridge stealing all the time away from Creed, regardless of whether Alter Bridge are going to get any bigger or not. Maybe things are completely fine though, and Stapp is just willing to be bluntly honest about feelings he has that aren't going to become an issue. If it wasn't for this book then we'd only be able to speculate about how happy he is with the current situation - the fact that they spent all that time but didn't get round to recording a new album together could even suggest he wasn't that bothered about making a new album and was willing to wait, but I doubt that's the case.

No he hasn't written a book, but he's done a lot of interviews since the whole Creed reunion... Scott has dodged talking about Alter Bridge many times before this book was released, so I don't see why Myles not writing a book lowers the validity of my point.

Is this really so hard to understand? The cock sucking statement was meant to point out the bias on the board among the members. I was trying to say you can't have a conversation with someone here w/o AB or members of the band always being in the right somehow. I wasn't actually calling you cocksuckers.
