I liked the sound of the demos. Light and not as heavy as Full Circle.

Seriously though, I remember More than This was supposed to be pretty good. I hope it lives up to that notion. If not, they should re-record/finish it and release it someday. Hence the word (demo) in the name of the song.

The guitar tone of 'Why' reminds me of the song 'Ode".

^That's because "Why" & "Blistered" are from the MOP era.. can tell from the guitar tone & vocals. I agree with Ryan about the acoustic stuff... sounds like they ripped them from videos. Some of are from the Walmart stuff they did & other pro quality acoustic stuff which would be totally fine if they have the stems from the sessions but if they're just rips from YouTube or other websites it's a waste of time.

Needless to say I'm not going to be buying this even though I am a huge diehard. I'm definitely interested in the demos though.

If none of us are going to be buying this then how are we going to get the demos

I assume someone will upload them to Youtube eventually.

I found an interview on the Creed Nation forums where a guy talks about a demo from MOP
called "Blistered". Apparently, he didn't think it was a very good song though.

just remember, they're demos. could be unfinished lyrics, song structure, lyrics might have changed when they made the songs final, etc...even Young Grow Old recorded version is different from what they played live back in 1998-1999.

I would almost guarantee that More Than This won't have all of the vocals. Kinda sounds like the chorus on the preview and there are no vocals over top of it... I hope I'm wrong though.

Songs like Blistered make me realize why I used to love this band. Phenomenal track

More Than This is also good. If they could just polish up the lyrics to actually include the words "more than this" and edit Scott's vocals as much as possible it would be killer on the radio. Also put the solo in the latter part of the song

More Than This missing the chorus and bridge vocals. Hopefully, they finish this song for the next album.

yeah, you can tell More Than This wasn't finished lyrically. the end of the song is too long musically with no vocals for Creed. Blistered and Why are very much unfinished. they almost sound like Stapp was kinda filling in the vocal melodies with words to see what stuck and what didn't.

And the only other track I'd want is the acoustic version of To Whom it May Concern...but lucky me...it's an "album only" song

Side note: I'd be embarrassed to have my name on a product that has those "horrible vox" versions of My Sacrifice and a few of the other hits. I can imagine the casual fan getting excited about those tracks and upon listening promptly yelling "WTF is this?!?!"

Surely they had better cuts somewhere in the vault

Seriously, it would be better if they just finished the demos (Especially More Than This') and pushed the released date back. Makes me feel like it's just a cash grab.

All right, I just bought the songs and gave them a first listen.

I'll start with More than this. They are on to something here and I think they should keep on working on it. The melody isn't quite there - it's drowned out by too many other guitars. But they really caught the My Sacrifice vibe too it. The lyrics aren't anything. He wasn't done with it all. But the vocals are onto something with the melody. And I was surprised that his voice was so good in the song considering it's later creed.

Next is Blistered. It's mostly finished but the lyrics need some rounding out and it's missing a chorus - but the chorus only seemingly appears once. Weird structure. But overall it's good. Got a real good Mop vibe.

And last but not Least is Why. I don't even see how this is a demo. It's fucking great. It's a complete song. It has got that old creed bite. Maybe the instruments and stapps voice could have a better tone but otherwise it's awesome.

I'm so happy Blistered and Why were released and wouldn't mind them completing More Than This and rereleasing on a new record.

good day for creed fans

I haven't heard anything yet.
Could More Than This be their big comeback song if they worked more on it ?
How is the production ? How big do the guitars sound ? Is there any bass in the mix ?
