Stapp Acoustic Concert 7-17-15

Post by Seeker_1306 »

Hadn't seen this talked about so I figured I'd make a thread for it.

A very odd choice for Stapp in my opinion, but he is playing an hour-long acoustic set in New Jersey for...Vapers? Who knew they had such a thing?

I'm guessing this will be a show with Brent Look playing for him.

I kinda doubt that Stapp can still sing properly. And with properly I mean half as "well" as he did with his older solo acoustic stuff... Let's hope he doesnt emberass himself totally (once again). I got a fishy feeling bout dis...

Good for Stapp. I live in Jersey...don't vape though, but maybe i'll check it out. Depends on pricing and where the concert is.

He sounded great last year on his solo tour. I think he'll do just fine.

I know some people are recording video so time will tell.

Saw some photos, brief videos, and anecdotes from people who went and seems like it went well. Good for him if he's doing better. His wife was there too.

Other than some pitchy-ness in certain spots I thought he sounded pretty good. Still playing the songs a half-step down.

Thanks for the videos.
He messed up the second half of Higher (no big deal though), and it looks like he had tears in his eyes around the 3mn48 mark.
It was probably quite emotional for him to come back on stage.

Yeah he started crying. guess he's happy to be able to be performing again. Dude isn't aging well, looks like he's 50, must be the drugs. He really shouldn't sing while chewing gum btw

Was a relaxed performance. the audience seemed to like it.

I definitely agree on the chewing gum part.
I said I found it quite disrepectful at the Creed Nation forum, but a member said it could be because of a prescription drug related dry mouth. It kinda makes sense, since I never saw him chew gum on stage before.

As to the performance itself, well, he still can't hit those high notes, and I guess it's as good as he'll get from now on. He should still try to find better guitar players though. That dude on the right with the longer hair isn't tight at all, but it's something we've discussed again and again over the years.

He doesn't sound bad. At least as much as you can judge from the medium quality recordings. Who knows, probably he is better now than he was during that embarassing 2009 DVD. He looks sane and fit. Who cares about a chewing gum anyways? We are talking about a rock musician lol.

EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzhczwnRKLg
Some nice quality of My Own Prison he performed on that evening.
