Proof of Life first week sales predictions
How many copies do you think the new album will sell in its first week in the USA ?
Human Clay sold 315.000 copies in its first week
Weathered sold 887.000 copies in its first week
Full Circle sold 111.000 copies in its first week
The Great Divide sold 94.000 copies in its first week
And since we're on an Alter Bridge forum :
One Day Remains sold 95.000 copies in its first week
Blackbird sold 47.000 copies in its first week
AB III sold 28.000 copies in its first week
My guess is that Stapp will sell between 10.000 and 15.000 copies in his first week. There is absolutely no buzz whatsoever, and he's got a terrible image these days, even among his fans.

15-25. Only thing that can save it is the mainstream sound. Maybe one of the songs will get on the rock radio.

Less than 10,000 most definitely. Outside of hardcore Stapp fans nobody even really knows that this CD exists. I'd imagine quite a bit of people will end up illegally downloading it though.

Re: Proof of Life first week sales predictions
So far, it looks as everybody is expecting this album to bomb big time.
I don't care much whether it tanks or not (it's not my money after all), but considering Creed is pretty much on permanent hiatus right now, I can't understand why Stapp isn't putting more of an effort to make an impact as a solo artist.
Tweeting once a week is not enough when you have an album to sell. He's got 4 weeks left, and things aren't looking too good for him right now.

November 5th.
It's pretty much one of the worst weeks of the year when you're a small artist. There is way too much competition, and media won't care about you in the slightest way.

I'll be picking up Eminem's new album on the 5th before I get this, if I ever do. I'm a huge Stapp fan, but this single really disappointed me. Hope the album does well though

I don't know if it would make a difference even if it was released today to be honest..chtimixeur wrote:November 5th.

Re: Proof of Life first week sales predictions
When you release albums in slower months, it helps you get bigger numbers on the charts, and those numbers are pretty much the only thing promoters look at when you're building a tour. So basically, Stapp shoots himself in the foot with this november release. He would have charted higher if he had released his album in january, july or august.
Re: Proof of Life first week sales predictions
They are seriously pimping this album to the Christian community. I am more optimistic. I think it will sale 30k. Lets not forget the middle age women love Stapp.
Tremonti sold 12k. I think Stapp will do better than that. Obviously worse than Full Circle.

how insightful of you
Re: Proof of Life first week sales predictions
As someone in the Christian community who listens to a lot of Christian rock, I have not heard this album pimped to me... not even once. So I don't know where you're reading this, but I think you're wrong.julio wrote:They are seriously pimping this album to the Christian community. I am more optimistic. I think it will sale 30k. According to this article, Scott is releasing "Slow Suicide" to Christian radio stations.timusca wrote:As someone in the Christian community who listens to a lot of Christian rock, I have not heard this album pimped to me... not even once. Re: Proof of Life first week sales predictions
thanks for posting that link. I am not making this stuff up.
Maybe "pimping" is a harsh word. It just seemed to me they are targeting the Christian audience.

Re: Proof of Life first week sales predictions
Thought I saw the album for pre-sale at a Christian bookstore's site the other day but I don't have a link right off.

Is there a place that you can go to see which songs are selling the best on Itunes? That usually gives you an idea of which songs are the most popular and which songs should be released as singles.
