If/when he releases the radio friendly songs off the album like Only One, Dying to Live, Crash, etc, and if those songs bomb and don't get played at all on the radio, then I'll say that the album bombed. But the first song released as a single, Slow Suicide, is one of the weakest songs on the album in my opinion.

Eh. Slow Suicide is in my top 3 favorites from the album. I've considered getting the "I'm not evil, no matter what you think of me..." line tattoo'd on me somewhere. Maybe. That particular lyric just grabs me due to some problems I've had in my life.
Slow suicide should be getting radio play. Why it isn't I don't get. It's a modern rock song. It jives. It works. Think it might just be a failure of an album.

I think it basically sounds like any other song on rock radio, but I think Scott needs to release a more exceptional and memorable song as a single. I think Only One and Dying to Live could both potentially do pretty well on the radio.

Is there any website you can visit to see whether "Slow Suicide" is getting any airplay on the radio at all or has made it onto the charts yet?

Thanks! At least it made the charts, even though it's not very high.

Its still there on 48, not sure if you clicked on active rock. Hardly matters imo, but yeah, he has lost a couple of places and should be out soon.

Maybe the video will help it do better on the charts.

They even have this album listed under "Christian albums" on Billboard, at #3. That's kind of surprising. I didn't think Stapp really liked being labeled as a Christian artist.

Nope, I think he would like to be called a christian artist at the moment. He has stated in the interviews that he wants to serve his god with his music and thats the time for him right now, probably the reason Creed is on hiatus. Stapp is probably not in Creed mode, and probably Mark sees that. Maybe Stapp will do as much justice to his faith through his solo music for a while and then probably think of writing with a fresh perspective about newer things. The last thing Creed needs is to have prayer songs. Stapp just doesn't seem ready for new Creed mentally or vocally imo.

I am not sure why you are surprised. He has been aggressively promoting his album (and even his book) to the Christian community. He played some songs at a church for crying out loud. It is kind of hard not to be labeled a Christian artist when you do something like that.

Because for one thing, he's always said that he's a Christian but not a Christian artist. And also I'm surprised since there's profanity in "Who I Am." It's mild, yes, and not really offensive. But, I've never heard of a Christian album that has profanity.

Well, maybe I'm wrong. I just looked it up, and POD even used an f-word in their most recent album, and they've always been known as a Christian band. Quite surprising.

From what i understand, POD had version of the album without "I am" for Christian stores.

Yeah, I don't think Stapp did the same for "Who I Am" on his album, although the profanity he used wasn't nearly as strong. Interesting that the song title is almost the same though.

Well, it is a mega flop.
First week, it landed around 35th place on the billboard 200.
On the second week, it is ranked at n°200 !!!
So we can safely say he'll be out of the charts next week.

I don't think Stapp really expected to top the charts or anything. It's not 1999 anymore. But I still think that album sales might increase once some of the radio friendly songs from the album are released. Although obviously the album is never going sell massive, Creed like amounts. Less and less people are buying CD's all the time.

Sad news indeed. :(
Interesting fact: all Eminem albums are still in the top 200 many years after release (his new album is massive).
