Since Creed doesn't have much news these days, I thought I'd go back to 2002 and share 2 songs from the Bon Jovi record called Bounce.
The first song was a single and is called The Distance
The second one is called Love Me Back To Life :
Can you guys hear Creed's influence in those 2 songs ?
Because I definitely can !
I'm listening to a lot of Bon Jovi records these days, and these 2 songs sound NOTHING like the rest of their material. You can tell they tried to emulate Mark's guitar style, and in the first song, there were a couple of moments where I thought Jon Bon Jovi would sing lines from My Sacrifice
Bon Jovi is a huge band, and I didn't think they would ever need to use some other bands's gimmicks to be succesful. It just shows you how influential Creed was back in the day
Did Creed influence Bon Jovi in 2002 ?

Wow, I see what you mean about the first one. Bon Jovi is great about taking things and incorporating them into their music. With rock close to dead in the states, the new stuff is OVERLY poppy. To the point I can't stand it. Still, my wife is making me take her to KC to see them in april. At least I get to hear Wanted, lol.

DEAD OR ALIVE
Re: Did Creed influence Bon Jovi in 2002 ?
They definitely had some kind of influence over Bon Jovi, both opening riffs sound like the ones from "My Sacrifice" and "Higher."

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one hearing a bit of an influence here
