Creed is highly succesful in 2024 because fans were hungry for it. If they come back too often, especially with a setlist that barely changes, the band will probably lose its appeal once again.
When they come back with a new single, it will have to be just as good as anything they've done if they want to be relevant again.

What happened to Mark wanting to play every song in their discography on this tour?

What happened to them talking about playing Stapp and Tremonti solo songs?

Good interview here with Mark:
https://youtu.be/hweRndvWbpU?si=Nj-8NOD85FtYLQsP

A little tid bit on a potential new Creed song at 1:50.
This is so great to hear! Hopefully we get a song or two in time for the tour and then leads to an album after the Alter Bridge cycle.

no reason to mess with what's working

although i hope to see some deep / non-album cuts in the future

I wonder if Mark knowns...maybe somebody who work with him will see this comment...While he's writing new material, to kind of tide us over while he write new creed music, literally just release grip my soul or record some of the older stuff. Does the band remember Do it all over?

So I went to San Antonio.

It was probably the best concert I've seen by a big band since Alice in Chains. They played almost all my favorite songs. Solid greatest hits set. I went with my sister instead of my best friend and I'm glad. She goes throw some problems and Stapp (plus 3 Doors Down) talked a lot about God. Just that sense of isolation and loneliness we all get stuck in and never to forget how loved we are. I don't record shows but Stapp said some really beautiful stuff during My Own Prison and What's This Life For that I think connected with her.

Of my favorite bands Creed is officially the only one I've seen with the OG lineup alive and in person. Everyone else is either dead or hate each other. So lucky I got to cross this off my bucket list.

I wish Scott would limit this shit. One of the things I liked about Creed was the politics weren’t in your face in the past. Last thing I want to think about is Scott endorsing a certain republican candidate. Before you jump down my throat, I love in a heavily conservative area so his speech is stuff I’m used to hearing from the crazies here. This just brings flashbacks when he thought Obama was trying to kill him and his family in the mid 2010s

I’m glad you pointed out that he didn’t endorse any particular candidate.

He correctly stated that we’re a constitutional republic and not a democracy.

He also correctly stated that our nation thrives on division.

While I’m not the biggest fan of politics in music, I can’t point out any objective falsehoods in what he said, so I don’t see the problem.

If you’re operating under the assumption that conservative principles are held onto by the “crazies”, then you should probably ignore what the founding fathers believed in and were willing to die for.

I’d also stay away from Michael Tremonti’s twitter if I were you, he’s extremely based. Which I’m a huge fan of.

P.S. No one is jumping down your throat here.

This is too funny.

Imagine that, in America we’re too intolerant of other’s beliefs that we have to avoid them completely.

Hence the division Scott spoke of.

I'm just going to point this out. Maybe, it's me being ignorant of what's going on out there (lord knows, I got other internal issues to deal with), but hearing people use words like woke, based, etc. It sounds like buzz words for me to not care about whatever people say when they use those terms.

Stapp wants to point stuff out like that in concerts in attempt to get people excited. Cool. Everyone can go ahead and take it or leave it. Much like certain Myles songs that could lean towards a spectrum when pointing stuff out in that sense.

This is not an assumption, this is what I live on the fucking daily in Texas. I survived through the 2019 Walmart shooting that happened in El Paso. You get a new perspective in life when you're hiding inside a coat rack with shit and piss running down your legs wondering if your going to be able to see your wife and son ever again. Then to find the little shit stain was a fan of a certain candidate and wanted to kill people like me because he believed in replacement theory. Not to mention this state has been ruled by the right wing for 30+ fucking years and still blame all the problems of the state on the other side when they have been irrelevant for that long. Then on top of that to hear one of my close friends lost his niece in the Uvalde shooting and have the state pretty much tell them to pound sand.

We of differing opinions have effectively been silenced in this state. You have our AG going after certain people to intimidate them from voting. I was purged from voting recently without notice even though I registered to vote this year in Jan and had to reapply all over again. Anyone who even promotes a different opinion from right wing around where I live has had their property vandalized. And then we get scolded for not turning out to vote and flipping the state. We have our neighbors spouting off about civil war if they don't get their way in November.

Anytime I hear the rah-rah civil rights, government bad, unity speech in this state, it just pisses me off now. What is the unity they want? Because from their own mouths people like me don't belong in this unity. What they really want is conformity, for the rest of us with different opinions from them to stay silent. And don't get me wrong, there are actors on both sides that are guilty of this.

I am not an American. What is Stapp getting at when he says that the rights of US citizens are being neglected at any moment? That's a pretty general statement where basically anyone listening can pick and choose what is meant by it.

^^ I honestly have no idea and for the sake of protecting what's little of my sanity, I rather not want to research that deeper. I will suggest anyone else can discuss it elsewhere.

No problem. I'll get off my soap box :cheers . Creed always has a special place in my heart especially dealing with the survivors guilt I had. I'm happy Scott is back where he belongs but sometimes those moments bring back the bad memories of his psychotic break he had. Really bummed i didn't get the chance to see them this tour cycle.

Sorry to hear of your experiences and I pray that you have a happy, fulfilling life with your wife and son.

Speaking of shooting, which candidate has been nearly assasinated twice already? The last of which acquired a gun illegally? I could go on but nothing I’ve said has been countered.

I’m happy to continue this discussion with you elsewhere, as I don’t want to clog up this thread with political arguments. FWIW I’m a registered unaffiliated due to my distaste for both R’s & D’s.

Why is it okay for Myles Kennedy to write politically liberal lyrics - but it's not okay for Stapp to talk politics? And Creed has always spoken about politics and society - see the lyrics of One. I would prefer them not to speak about politics like this. They should focus on music.

I think the issue could lie more on the idea that Stapp is taking the time, during a concert, to address what could be politically-fueled topics and despite Myles writing songs that could look like it's talking about politics (such as Get Along, Silver Tongue, a good amount of The Last Hero album, Beneath the Savage Sun), he never spends concert time in between songs talking about topics like this. Which is good, because AB's been up against it in their live shows fitting 15-17 songs a night in a 90-100 minute set. I'd be really upset if 5-10 minutes of their show is spent on the band not playing songs and just ranting and raving about stuff that has nothing to do with themselves personally or their songs.

I got nothing against it, personally, if Stapp thinks this approach could be the best way to express himself about matters that are important to him or get crowds more into Creed. I said it's no different than Myles writing songs of topics that could be fueled by political matters. They are all musicians and if they want to address it through these platforms, so be it. It's part of the human nature.
