That's true and people would handle grief differently. I mean Neil Peart of Rush with his lost of his family coped where he didn't even play drums for like over 2 years and drove on a motorcycle around North America in that period as his way to heal. In a way, maybe Chris Daughtry probably sees playing shows as his way of healing especially when his audience is very understanding of what happened. It's never a one-size fits all solution.

I think that the return to touring is to try and bring a sense of normalcy back to his world. Like Kev said, people grieve differently.

When my grandmother died, I grieved by going to work and trying to accept what had happened. There is really no singular way of moving on or grieving for the loss of a loved one.

I know Chris has mentioned in the past that he is a man of faith so I imagine his belief in a higher power is guiding him right now and helping him make decisions.

When I lost people close to me in the past. I went back to work within days just to focus on something productive and not sit home thinking about it and being sad. My crying doesn’t bring them back and only hurts the living. I stay focused on getting out and being around supportive people… it helps me a lot. It doesn’t mean those I lost are any less significant or unimportant it just keeps me alive.

Here's a long podcast with Mark.

Legendary guitarist Mark Tremonti sits down with Robb to discuss his heavy new solo album “Marching In Time”, his love of 80’s speed metal, how awesome Alex from Testament is, the insane success and then backlash of Creed, having to buy his way out of his record contract to move on with Alter Bridge, the sometimes toxic ups and downs touring in a band, and ultimately finding peace with his place in the music world.
At the 24th minute, Mark says he's friends with Jason Suecof. :headbang
This guy is is an amazing producer (and guitarist), and I can guarantee that Tremonti would go to the next level if he recorded one of their albums. This collaboration needs to happen in the future!

Due to the current Covid restrictions, we are sadly forced to postpone all TREMONTIES UK/European 2022 headline shows due to start on January 15 2022 through to Fri Feb 11.

No, If he's going to cancel Europe, why not head up to the Great White North!
I have a horse and will travel. I have a dog sled outside my igloo too.

Seriously though, when Covid ends, I hope Tremonti and/or Alter Bridge make their way up to Western Canada.

That drummer is really a nice addition to the band. Tight, fast and creative. What's not to like?

That can't be right for a Mark Tremonti involved band. It's always pretty darn loud up close. Probably poor footage quality.

don't kill me but i'd rather tremonti was mark's main focus now. i echo the sentiment of some of you in the ab forum - that ab needs to happen in its own time, not on a forced 3-year cycle.

edit: never mind, i just saw tim's post lmao.

All right, back home from the show. Man, it's tough to pick between Shinedown at the Wiltern, Sevendust at the HOB or Daughtry/Tremonti at the Novo as the frontrunner for concert of the year for me, but I got to give today's show the nod. Everything was pretty much perfect for both sets. To see Mark Tremonti, front and center on the rail, is perfect. Watching him play is just awesome. He's always focused, precise, and on the point every time. The crowd around me felt like an AB crowd, which is always fine and dandy to me. As mentioned before, I caught a pick and one the stage crew gave me the setlist. Was able to preserve it well enough after the show and have it taped on my wall. Note, I sure have my priorities in order. I have the setlist on my wall, but not my bachelor's degree that I have still yet to open after 6 years.

As for Daughtry, it's a pretty good show. The more I see footage of them live and their sound, the more I question how in the world do them and Shinedown have yet to tour with each other. They would be a perfect pair to do arenas/amphitheaters stateside and draw a wide variety of demographics. They heavily favored their latest album in their set, which is fine, because that album some more rocking elements that people were into, and they were able to throw some favorites from their first two albums. It's Not Over, Over You, Home, No Surprise, and September. They also played a cover of Alice in Chains' Man in the Box with Mark making a guest appearance on guitar and busting a solo there. Also, caught a pick at the end of their set as well. I'm just lucky in reaping the stuff. Got two picks, a setlist, and bought a Tremonti tour shirt. It's safe to say, I'm really pleased of tonight.
