I didn't really like it at first, but it's definitely growing on me. It'll be interesting to see how often Mark uses it and if it ever becomes a production model.

Here's another gag guitar that Mark has shown us.

"Trying to go a little more extreme with a new signature PRS!!"

Does someone have some HQ pics of this guitar? I know Fret12 once posted some amazing pics but I can't find them anywhere.

I don't think the photos do it justice. I thought it was really ugly in the circulating photos, but when I saw it live I thought it looked pretty nice.

I'm trying. I really am, but everything about it looks unfinished. Even the volume/tone knobs.

seeing as how it's a prototype... I think that should be assumed?

Yeah but at least the basics should be in place. I get what he's going for. I just don't like it lol.

I guess I didn't really realize it was a prototype since he's using it live so much.

It definitely looks different when he's holding it on stage but the shape and aesthetics just don't click with me the way it is now. I'd be interested to see if they can change my mind with different mashups for it in the future though if this one is just a prototype.

Personally, I'd rather see them experiment with thickness and varying hole designs like on the Stevie Vai signature Ibanez models. They have a pretty cool canoe cut on their PRS SE Semi Hollow Body that they could probably explore with. They could even fill the holes in with wood cutouts, acrylics or even resins.

Not that they should necessarily do this one in particular but here is an example of infusing wood with a luminescent (glow in the dark) resin.

Just the process of resin pouring alone could open up some cool doors for new design ideas, especially more subtle and professionally polished ones.

Dunno why people consider this guitar as ugly. I really like it.
