The build-up to the chorus kinda reminds me of the transition from the bridge to the last chorus in Brains. This one is a bit slower, but it has that same feel.

The handwritten lyric sheets do not represent the official songs entire lyrics. There's most likely 1 repeated chorus at least and there's always little vocal inflections and words/phrases added in or not written down. Plus the solo adds another 30-45 seconds and the instrumentation and everything else. It's entirely possible for it to be 5 minutes.
