Right? Pretty simple chorus, vocally speaking, but damn catchy.

Am liking the Chorus and the solo. Not a fan of the rest of the song, forgettable for me. Maybe it'll grow on me. Not a fan of those vocal effects as always. The melody of the main riff, as highlighted in the pre bridge section is awesome. Wasted melody imo.

The Production is pretty good though. The bass is finally audible.

Edit: Definitely gets better with more listens. Overall a good song.

You can obviously hear the rhythm so you can groove to it, but one would have a rather difficult time transcribing it. At least I would, but maybe I'm not a good transcriber lol I think the intro almost sounds muffled.

Loving it! Definitely agree with the others that the clean-picked chord progressions in the verses echo "New Way To Live". So pumped for this album!

I agree that the lyrics are ambiguous, so you can really say that this is 100% about Stapp. I can see why people think it is though. With lyrics like "Sold your lies before God" and "Learn a lesson from the words that you speak". It's like he's talking about how Stapp preaches all these God instilled values in his lyrics, and acts the opposite in his private life. I translate it as "your selling this godly image in your songs, but God knows that's a lie". Then he's saying, eat your words and learn a lesson from these words that you speak in your songs. Even the chorus seems to be Tremonti being fed up. It's like he's saying "I'm over caring, you keep doing this to yourself. I want to care, but I'll have to find another heart, because it's getting old". Like I said though, I don't necessarily think this is about Stapp at all. I just understand why people think so. It's definitely a possibility.

The guitars are so downtuned in the intro and heavy parts that they lack definition.
I was the first one to admit Elvis stepped up his game on Fortress, but this song reminds me why I don't like him as a producer.
Other than that, this first single is exactly what I expected it to be, and it's definitely not for me.

I really like the guitar tone. I love that trashy and moody sound, especially in the intro.

Man I think its killer. I really really enjoyed the solo. Definitely has that harmonic minor (middle eastern) feel to it. So happy he held of on the long legato run and picked all the fast stuff. The bridge riff is awesome and reminds me of all that i got. Bold to solo over that riff but he get a really good solo melody out of it. I love watching mark evolve with each album and can't wait to hear the rest.

We'll see about Sympathy, but Unable to See is going to be an epic ballad. Kind of wish it was on Cauterize so I don't have to wait ages to hear it again.
