TREMONTI in Camden, London - Feb 18th + MORE videos!!
Well.. It was a cold day in London and the fashion hotspot that is Camden was booming. A collective of die-hard Alter Bridge fans consumed the front of the line.
Logan, in my opinion were awful. Even with some major technical difficulties just before showtime, they showed a poor level of professionalism before playing what looked like an awkward collection of Creed covers and overplayed guitar songs. Their new guitarist is badass on his Les Paul; dont get me wrong. He overshadows the 2nd guitarist's abilities ten-fold, but he lacked emotion and feel when just widdling at every single chance he could get. The drummer, who i can only assume to be a 15 year old fan they've asked to fill in..? Was actually a superb noise maker.. He hit hard and well, but was sloppy and exciteable on stage. I found myself tapping my foot to a song in the middle of their set, but was glad when it was over..
Heaven's Basement completely, and thankfully deleted the previous band's performance from my memory. They were outstanding, even with a flu bug going through their camp and the guitarist Sid playing on a belly full of a couple of 26inch pizzas... They were phenomenal. For a 4 piece band, they soared above and beyond what people expected to come from them. They appear young and messy, but they are infact true showmen and rockstars. Aaron on vocals has trouble hitting pitch on stage at points, but overall he does well with old tracks aswell as new. Executioners Day is by far their crowning piece of their catalog and it shows when they smashed it out.
Tremonti, well... As usual was ridiculously loud. Excessively so even, but who gives a shit? They were incredible. Mark was looking HENCH and Eric darted around his side of the stage nailing pretty much (not 100% of) every thing he played. The vocal harmonies were superb, as per the album itself and the decision to open with Leave It Alone (bringing the CD to live almost) is pure genius!! Mark's tone was as stringy and loud as usual which i dont always appreciate, but he has COMPLETELY upp'd his game when it comes to projecting emotion and feel in his singing. He poured himself into his microphone at every chance he got and i've never heard him sing better! Wolfgang was solid as a rock, as usual.. Maybe a little too many fills/overplays in places, but the kid is a wonder. Seriously, what a line-up TREMONTI are..
All That I Got has a seriously epic riff in it, i know we've all seen and heard it a few times over the course of their touring; but honestly that riff and song structure is superb! How it didnt make the record i do not know! The crowd were awesome, knowing all the lyrics and starting up huge moshpits for Wish You Well and Brains! I dont really know what else to say about the show.. It was loud, it was beefy and the guys smashed the shit out of the venue.
We didnt get to stay to hang out with the guys afterwards unfortunately as we had a large party and many needed to set off on the 4 hour drive home afterwards. Shame really because i wanted to speak to Mark for many reasons! Maybe next time, still a killer show as usual!
HD video's uploading to YouTube as i type this so look out for them later

All That I Got is such a strong track. Glad that they're going to put it on the next record.. It's too strong to be 'just' a b-side. I hope Wolfie sings more backing on the next record too.. I prefer his backings over Erock's.
