Well, let's see here, this took place in January of 2011 during the House of Blues show in LA after AB did the Jay Leno show and since Wolfie is from the LA area Tremonti may have thought "Let's get Wolfie along with Erock to play on one of our songs, if Myles got Slash to play Rise Today at the end (which Slash did play later in the show)."

Some nice foreshadowing there.

I know Mark has always wanted to jam with eRock for years and years... But I've never seen any connection between Wolfie and Mark until he came on board

Not to mention when Mark was invited to EVH's studio to hear them play through the new album!

Also, here was Mark's initial interaction with the Van Halen family.
Yeah, well we first did shows with them back in the Creed days. Eddie actually gave me one of his guitars, and then years went by. It’s funny, at one of those old shows; I think at Madison Square Garden, he ran through a crowd of fans and press just to tell me how to set up the guitar with the springs on the guitar when he had Valerie and Wolfgang with him. And it meant a lot to me that he’d leave his family to come tell the young guitar player what to do.

I remember Wolfgang was six or seven years old then, and now, eleven years later, he has become a fan of Alter Bridge. He came out to some shows, and we’ve become friends. We invited him to Alter Bridge sound checks, and we hang out with him every time we go to LA.

I thought it was pretty common knowledge that Wolfgang was buddies with these guys over the past couple years? Maybe not, but I do remember this show - and that one big group picture with the AB guys along with Wolfgang and a couple other dudes.

Yeah Wolfie and Mark have been friends for years, I believe there were pics of them playing ping pong around the time of Blackbird's tours

despite the crap audio, that was awesome! the licks Erock was throwing in were a great addition! I'd love to see an AB show with Erock in it. Maybe even let him be a touring guitarist but let Myles write the guitar parts for the songs... just a thought...
