I think they might be getting a little worn out on writing lyrics, both him and Myles. I mean, how many albums have each of them contributed to lyrically? 10+ at least, that's more than most bands put out period. They might be needing some new inspiration or something. Someone go kidnap a dog or steal one of their cars or something.*

That's a good point. Myles has essentially doubled his lyrical production since joining Slash. AB are still releasing new albums every 3 years, and now Slash is working at a similar clip. I recall a Myles interview around the release of WOF where he said something like, "I usually write from my own experiences, but after so many albums the well starts to dry up, so on this album I started writing from others' perspectives (e.g., "Dirty Girl")."

Maybe Myles and Tremonti are getting there, too. How to revamp it, I have no idea. Didn't realize until yesterday Myles was 46!!

I do love the dissonance between the serious business lyrics and the title. Little bit like Spinal Tap's "Lick my Love Pump" (in the saddest of all keys).

I hope I enjoy it more than I do the live clip. It's a cool riff and all, but it sounds slow and plodding. It might sound cool between faster songs on the album.

The only thing I dislike about Flying Monkeys so far is the chorus; it's like he wanted a big chorus but ends up being more of a 'little engine that couldn't' type of thing.
