Re: Tremonti Project: Previews
I like that slightly distorted vocal melody that comes in right after the solo. Is that Erock singing?
Re: Tremonti Project: Previews
Could be. I think in a live situation it will be Erock
Please give them a like

I do believe so, Erock tweeted yesterday that the higher harmonies weren't Mark... with a smiley face. haha.
Re: Tremonti Project: Previews
The only thing similar to Rain is the tone of the guitar...other than that...nah.
Favorite preview so far, though, looks like this will be my favorite song.

Re: Tremonti Project: Previews
My favourite preview so far also, it really blew me away on the first listen.
Re: Tremonti Project: Previews
Wasn't expecting much from that song, very pleasantly surprised.
For all of the hope that it brings...

Re: Tremonti Project: Previews
I have to say this is probably the perfect music for me. I like a lot of metal stuff like lamb of god, machine head, slayer, etc but i also like lighter rock stuff too. This is the perfect mix of both. The heaviness of metal with the clean vocals and melody of rock. I cant wait for this album!!

Mark's vocal melody (chorus) kind of floats on that 3 over 6/3/4/1/7 progression. Rain floats around the 3 over the 1/7/4/3. So there's some similarity there but there's plenty thats different. I think that open tuning also makes it sound like rain. For the record I like the rain chorus melody. Yeah rain is commercialized and more produced than most of us would like but its still a great melody.
I think the solo is absolutely killer on this one. Tasteful as well.
Re: Tremonti Project: Previews
It's definitely the tuning. I'm pretty sure it's in Open B (same tuning), which gives it the illusion of similarity.billdrambis wrote:psycosquirrel789 wrote:I feel it's gonna rain like this for days.

Definitely sounds like the end of Rain to me. But he does sing it well. I was worried that the mid tempo songs would be to aggressive vocally - but he sang it well.

I still haven't heard anything I like more than Wish You Well. My roommate doesn't like Alter Bridge or Slash, but he really likes Brains. That's probably my second favorite.

Re: Tremonti Project: Previews
My brother liked the So You're Afraid preview more than most Alter Bridge stuff when I played it for him a few weeks ago. Mark's going to reach some fans on a little bit of the heavier side of music with this album for sure.

Re: Tremonti Project: Previews
No question. I think there's more anticipation (not necessarily hype, but anticipation) for All I was than there was for Apocalyptic Love.

Re: Tremonti Project: Previews
Yeah I was looking more forward to this album than Apocalyptic Love from the beginning. I don't think I'll be disappointed either judging by the previews. Apocalyptic Love is a good record too...I just don't - love - listening to Slash all the time.

Hmm, I didn't really like New Way Out, I thought it was quite average. But then again, I've never really liked any of the AB/Creed ballads, with the exception of Pity for a Dime, Wash Away Those Years, In Loving Memory, Brand New Start and What's This Life For. New Way Out just didn't click with me, so I'll probably end up skipping it on the album.

So you don't like their ballads, except everyone of them lolBSC wrote:I've never really liked any of the AB/Creed ballads, with the exception of Pity for a Dime, Wash Away Those Years, In Loving Memory, Brand New Start and What's This Life For.
Re: Tremonti Project: Previews
I don't like Broken Wings, Before Tomorrow Comes, Shed My Skin, Watch Over You, Wonderful Life, One Last Breath, WAWO, Inside Us All, Hide, Don't Stop Dancing and Lullaby.
That list did turn out longer than I thought it would though
