Looks like they might have done a video for the single already as well?

EDIT - Although, not sure... Not really a resonator-y song by the sounds of it.

I like it! Its like a better version of the music he makes in Slash. Musically it reminds me of that Spirit in the Sky song. Interestingly enough Candlebox made a song that's a good companion piece to In Stride. Both have very southern desert rock vibes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7x_1Yq9Dz_U

It's an interesting turn to say the least. I think it's safe to say In Stride will not define the album though I don't mind the upbeat Southern Rock vibe. I do expect some variety. I think he mentioned that there will be a song that has a Motown vibe. I'm hoping there's a more acoustic epic along the veins of Love Can Only Heal. Wonder what's the main album theme going to revolve around with the name "Ides of March?"

But the album date is 14 march or 14 may?

Too playful for my liking, but I was expecting something along the lines of any major AB single which was a mistake.

What a way to wake up! The Ides of March?Very interesting sound, like a southern-fried cross between Year Of The Tiger and Living The Dream. Shaping up to be hopefully an eclectic mixed bag of styles, between this and a Motown tune!

I'm a sucker for dirty slide guitar!

I saw in an album description, March 14. I hope that’s accurate because that’ll be quick!

According to that link (which has now been taken down, I really should've copied and pasted it all huh...) it was May, which fits more with the usual release timeline.

I figured the March 14 was a typo. That would be way too quick!

I see on his official site May 14.

The Ides of March is March 15th so maybe that explains the March typo. 😅

Anyway, what a treat to wake up to this morning! I listened right away and my initial reaction was one of intrigue. This guy's ability to blend genres will never cease to amaze me. I take Dolo's point about it being playful, but it just seems like a fun track.

It’s reminiscent of his first solo record for me, with the slide guitar in there, but still different since it’s got more rock to it than the previous efforts. I like it. Looking forward to the rest of the record.

To Kev's earlier point about the title - there's an "Ides of March" t-shirt on his site that has this painting of Caesar about to get deaded hidden in the text - https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... _Death.jpg - so that may give a hint, or it may just be that a promo bod googled it and thought it looked nice. Possibly something about ill omens and changing eras, anyway.

Also, vid! Maybe done by the same person/group that did the Native Son vid?

I like the instrumentals and the slide guitar. Instrumentally it's a great song.

But I don't like the vocals. It sounds uninspired, like a filler Slash song and I absolutely do not look forward to the high notes in the chorus acoustically. Like nails on a chalkboard.

Excited about the new album though! Love the direction and the vibe the album seems to be going to.

How unusual for our AB boys to have a typo or some mixed up info on first glance. :facepalm :lol

Dang, I love these guys.

Catchy little song, too. It's like a happy Slashy bluesy groove. Good. We need some fun.

On a side note, I like the subheadline that Loudwire put when they stated that the song is out. "Come for the blistering slide playing, leave feeling better about your circumstance."

It sounds like a Slash song, specially the vocals.

I like it better than Year Of The Tiger(the song as the first single) though.
