The songs certainly aren't bad so far. I think they're connecting with me faster than the Living The Dream singles. I've grown to really like The River Is Rising. Production aside, I think the band sounds great here!
Even with his voice kinda echoey and buried, Myles sounds pretty damn good.

Maybe I'm just a Dave Cobb fanboy, but this seems like an album that sounds better and better the louder your car stereo can pump it out.

The singles are good so far. Really digging them. Can't wait for the album to drop!

Just found out about this!

When I listen to a song like ‘The River Is Rising,’ by that point I was starting to get pretty sick,” the singer explained. “You can hear it in my voice, how congestedI was. But that’s part of what I think is really interesting about this record. We just let those imperfections lay. Because it’s all part of the story.” https://loudwire.com/slash-the-river-is ... m=referral

I hope River is Rising is the only track where Myles vocals got diminished by Covid. Because he does sound much better on Fill my world, and even on Call of the dogs to my hear.

I don't know if anybody's been following the episodes that they're releasing on Slash's YouTube page. But on ep. 2 and especially ep. 3 there's been a bunch of snippets of new songs, which all sound pretty great. I'm slightly more optimistic about the album after hearing those.

That actually is pretty interesting and really helps to put things in context. I think that will make a big difference on my first listen through.

So I remember how a lot of people on this website were complaining about how the Alter Bridge circle (AB, MK, Slash + MK&C, Tremonti, and Projected) should dump Elvis and get a new producer. Well, they did, and now people are still complaining.

This thread was about Slash, the last time I checked.

Didn't Elvis produce the previous Slash + MK&C albums?

Just because they found an even worse producer doesn't mean Elvis was ever any good.

As for the new Conspirators album, I've been listening to all Slash albums recently, and it made me wish that Myles sang on more ambitious and diverse material, like the Snakepit stuff. As enjoyable as they are, the Conspirators albums are all very safe and predictable. You always know what's you're getting.

He might have, but it's pretty irrelevant now.

Well, a discussion about which producer did a better job, the new one or Elvis, is not necessarily offtopic imo.

This cover is pretty cool. Myles is so great on this.

Also here's Fill My World played live. Really like this tune. Myles rocking a funky Bill Murray shirt.

The new album is out.

It's not good. I thought Living The Dream felt like a band on auto-pilot and Myles burning out on vocal melodies, but at least it had some great moments. This album is a continuation of that, but with terrible production and a huge absense of those great moments.

Not a fan of C'est La Vie? That and Fill My World are probably the only tunes to do it for me so far.

C'est La Vie is one of the better songs on the album indeed. I really like the main riff with the talkbox. For the rest it's just... okay...

It's on top of the list for me because it's consistently "okay" thoughout, which cannot be said for most other songs.

Worst SMKC album by far. Production isn't good. Myles vocals and melodies all sound like he's bored or uninspired. Slash's guitar playing feels the same way. I don't think theres any particular solo or riff that stands out. It feels like a chore to even listen to one song let alone 10. They should have stuck with Elvis and tracked the songs normally/not live.

Can't have an AB-related album without the mandatory post-headache!

There are tons of decent producers out there, just sayin'...

The album is indeed their worst, but not by a big margin. It's just your typical and average Slash album that will be forgotten in a few months.
Myles sounds tired, though, and it's kinda worrying for the future.

Myles sounds bad. I mean he stated that he was sick while recording and they refused to re-record Myles' voice to keep the album "original". Well, turns out that this was a bad idea. The album is overall pretty weak even though there some cool guitar riffs and solos.
