From Myles' FB:
Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, John Moyer and I put this jam together a few months ago....check it out. http://www.cnn.com/…/run-dmc-darryl-mcd ... index.html

Not a fan of DMC but :mkrules Nice chorus.

Such an odd pairing. A founder of the hip-hop group, Run-DMC, the bassist from Disturbed, and the vocalist for Alter Bridge in a song together. It's an interesting song to say the least. The lyrical topic is really haunting and topical in today's society with a good warning to heed.

Overall, it's all good.

HA! I noticed that! I wasn't sure I was hearing that right. certainly sounded like Myles rapping. love it!

:mkrules

I tend to agree that the song as a whole is meh and Myles is easily the highlight.

So I know he's an old school hip hop legend (and their style was more simplistic back then), but that was about the most elementary rapping I've heard in a while. I've always wondered what a collab with Myles or Mark would sound like with a rapper, but I'm kinda disappointed. Of all the potential that could have came with another rapper, this fell short. Good message though. Still, it's really cool this happened, plus it was awesome hearing Myles rap a little bit lol.

I dont hear any rapping from Myles at all in the 2nd verse. Unless you mean the background vocals?

Yeah. He's still kinda singing it a bit, but it's going along with his rap.

He's adding a little bit of melody in the "self-esteem brings self-respect" part, but for the rest he's following the rhythm and the delivery of DMC, so I'd call it rapping.

I liked his part, the vocals reminded me a lot of his work on Apocalyptic Love.

This is a stain on Myles' career. His vocabulary seems to have shrunk to like 8 words.

In the end, deny, still remains, truth, lost.

The song is cringeworthy, and I dislike Myles' voice more and more, whereas he was one of my favourite singers 10 years ago. I now understand why people couldn't stand him when he performed GNR songs.
