I know they wouldn't do it for a long period of time. I was more or less meaning about a dozen or so club dates on a smaller scale. But yeah, realistically that won't happen.

That's a fair amount of relatively east coast dates. That area sure does get 1st crack at rock shows.

Well, probably because that's where there are dense populations a short drive apart.

Got my tickets for Rams Head Live! on Wednesday thanks to Slash's e-newsletter pre-sale. This will be my third time to that venue, which is coincidentally turning into an annual spring pilgrimage. I don't mind in the slightest. :D

My friends and I will be there, too, from CT. We're doing the NJ show the night before then we'll catch a hotel along the way to crash. Then we'll make the last part of the trip in the morning. Their entry system is the best most organized system of any venue I've been to. I really wish more venues would work that way.

Any guesses about whether Baltimore will sell out? I'm reluctant to buy my ticket this early in case something comes up for work that I can't avoid. It's GA, right?

It's all GA, I think. Also, I think the show in Baltimore would most likely sell out. They played there during the AL tour. AB played there, last spring, and that sold out, according to the Billboard Boxscore.

See you there, then! :)

Yup, yup, and yup! The only way that the Rams Head Live! date might not sell out would be if Slash announced a additional date at a venue in DC. It seems, however, that a lot of touring acts prefer selling out a single venue in the DC/Baltimore region, rather than modestly filling up 2 separate venues within an hour (in low traffic) of each other... so yeah, it's probably going to sell out in a month or so!

Also, according to my research, Myles has performed at Rams Head a LOT in the past decade:

2007 (w/ AB)
Kinda-sorta 2008 (if you count AB's free outdoor gig for the Preakness on the Power Plant Live! property. Rams Head Group owns both RHL and the larger PPL complex that RHL is located within)
2009 (solo, for a PRS benefit gig)
2010 (w/ AB)
2011 (w/ AB for Carnival of Madness)
2012 (w/ SMK&C)
no 2013 dates
2014 (w/ AB)
2015 (w/ SMK&C)

That's at least 7 times by May 2015. Plus, it's the venue of choice for Mr. Paul Reed Smith, so I have a feeling that this trend isn't ending anytime soon. WOWZA. Can't believe I went to Towson University and didn't know who he even was (much less that he was performing 15 minutes away from my dorm) until a month after he was there with Slash in 2012!

I find it funny that the shortened the name of Welcome to the Jungle but not something like Beneath the Savage Sun.

What do they do that's so special? Unfortunately I don't think I'll be taking any days off to line up early for any of these shows. I'm trying to build up vacation days at my new job, and if I take off for a concert, it's going to be for Alter Bridge or Tremonti.

I agree that Ram's Head will sell out. Alter Bridge sold them out (in fact, I only got my tickets through sheer luck) last year, and I'm pretty sure Slash outsells Alter Bridge at most venues.

They have something called the "rock star entrance." It opens 2hrs before doors and they do security checks and ticket scans then. You get a number based on your spot in line at the rock star entrance. From there you can hang inside the bar area until doors, but you can leave and come back and not lose your spot. You just have to get checked by security again if you leave. When doors open numbers are called one at a time in order to get your spot in the venue. So organized. No having to sprint to get the spot you want or getting screwed by crappy security procedures. The bar stays open for post-show happy hour and their site says they encourage headliners to hang after the show, but I've never heard of AB or SMK&C doing that.
