Seeing these videos, I think a problem was that Myles switching from his high to low tone at a rate that did not flow well with the song. I think he did that for the sake of protecting his voice. That said, I thought he sounded really good in It's A Long Way to the Top

Lets not forget how damn high AC/DC vocals are. Bon Scotts are hard to sing and Brian Johnsons are near impossible, it's not a normal singing voice.

I've got a pretty high range and I can't do it.

I think you can buy the audio of all the songs that they played on the show, here. No separate tracks though, I think.

The whole concert was awesome. I don't think I've seen more high notes from Myles in one concert until that one.

The break in Whole Lotta Rosie was great too! Loved the little bit of Highway Star in it!

Beating Around the Bush is one of my faves from their lesser known songs (at least to me). I gotta hear that.

Any idea why they did so much AC/DC? Seems a little odd for Warren Haynes to play, not that he'd do a bad job with it, just different style of music than what I'd expect from him (I have yet to watch the videos)

^^ Not sure, if this actually answers your question, but it appears that they wanted to do it for some time now.
For this upcoming New Year’s Eve show, I understand you’re going to be jamming AC/DC tunes with Myles Kennedy. That sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun.

Yeah, we’re psyched about that. We’ve been talking about doing an AC/DC set for quite a few years, but it’s a little out of my range from a vocal standpoint. Myles’ range is higher than mine and it worked out that he was available this year. He’s the perfect guy to do it.

Any video of You Shook Me All Night Long? For years I've thought Myles would sound great on that tune

Someone has the whole AC/DC part of the show in 9 parts. Search YouTube. Can't think of the account off the top of my head and I'm at work. Can't post it now.

That works I guess, still having a hard time envisioning Warren Haynes as a big AC/DC fan, but ok! Thanks!
