I hope it's in the same league as the MF4 records...
FWIW, Myles himself said "People who have heard it say it's closer to my previous band back in the late '90s, The Mayfield Four. It kinda has that vibe to it."

Fuck, this is good. Definitely best news I've heard musically in a long long time.

This article is basically a compilation of stuff that has been said about the album in the past.

I remember reading an interview where he compared the album to Massive Attack as well, which sounds incredible to me.

A few song titles have been revealed as well over the years for people who aren't as up to date: Complicated Man, The Bar Fly, The Light of Day, Love Rain Down.

Are all of these related?

I wish he'd take a month to tour his solo album. Bofest was one of his greatest performances of all time. That'd be sweet. I would pay any amount of money to see that.

I just became an AB fan recently, but I've watched so many Myles interviews where he's mentioned the solo album and how it's been sitting on hard drives, waiting for him to track the vocals. I'm really happy for you all who have been waiting for this for years.

I hope someone interviews Myles sometime soon and asks him about it. We might have a release date before 2020 now! :lol

I'd give anything for his solo stuff to sound something similar to this...

I happily waited for this album through all the years of stasis. Now I know it's done, I'm back to being very impatient for it. I get the feeling though it'll be after 2016.

I was kinda hoping it was gonna be released around the same time as Dust, but with the new Slash album coming up, I have no idea what to expect.

Given AB are recording next year and touring later, and also that Slash is ready with another album worth of material and touring cycle, I have a feeling this is gonna happen in 2017. Guns N Roses will happen, Tremonti will either be with his solo band, or hopefully be doing something with Creed for the 20th anniversary of the band in 2017, seems like a window for Myles. But thats just too long. I could have Myles's solo album before any other project right now to be honest.

Didn't Mark say it was going to out in 2016 during an interview? I know Mark certainly isn't the most official source of information for Myles's album, but I certainly remember reading something to that effect from Mark in a recent interview.

I'm really looking forward to the album, I doubt it'll disappoint as I really don't know what to expect. I'm hoping it'll be some kind of bluesy, singer-songwriter, Jeff Buckley type thing.

I'm extremely impatient to hear it, but the fact that it was written in 2009 kinda worries me. ABIII was released the following year, and it wasn't my cup of tea.
I really hope he's going to deliver on vocals, and stop singing so nasally.

It could be Myles' equivalent to Mark's One Day Remains though. Something he sat on and developed for a while then finally got around to finishing in 09. I guess you're talking about the recording though in which case you might be right. I might be the only person that doesn't hear the nasally bit everyone else talks about though.

Just waiting patiently as I can be on this one, much like everything else AB-related.

Yeah, I already knows that part. At the very least, it's going to be Myles driving the boat in that song as oppose to Slash having the idea and Myles got to play off of that. It's role-reversal.
