Thank you guys. It's about the fickleness of human affection.

Two friends of mine, of 7 years, have fallen out over a woman they met maybe a couple of months ago. One is basically destroying himself by keeping in contact with her and is heading for a mental breakdown. She is emotionally abusing him and he has deflected all anger to my other friend. I can't reach him and this is just me venting my frustration.

I would put it to music but I can't come up with anything sad enough haha.

Yeah that's really good Sometimes when there isn't a good amount of "simple" language, the listener or reader can lose interest because there's too much to take in, but I think it really works in this case. I like it a lot!

I've toyed with this song for a bit. I've got an uplifting pre-chorus and some other ideas but I think they might change to something a bit sadder, rather than heavy:
