I think it is some form of a G# tuning on the 7 string, but I don't know which. It could be:
  1. A true Drop G# - the low G# with a half-step down tuning on the other six strings (G# D# G# C# F# A# D#).
  2. A Drop G# with Drop C# - the low G# with a Drop D half-step down tuning on the other six strings (G# C# G# C# F# A# D#).
  3. A C# Standard tuning with a low G# - this would follow the normal course of standard tuning, one and one-half steps down (G# C# F# B E G# C#).
Hey there, I'm the guy who started the Mark Tremonti Tuning Master List. Check it out!

We need to decide on one use for the title "drop tuning". To me, drop should be dadgbe, cadgbe, etc. And the cgcfad would be referred to as drop d and one step down.

Hardly. It would be better than someone saying Drop B and youre wondering if they mean BADGBE or BFBEGC. Or as evidenced by the 3 versions of the tuning for 7 string listed above. It would be far less confusing this way.

I think it is widely established that Drop B is BF#BEG#C#, Drop C CGCFAD, Drop D DADGBE etc. If you say Drop D 2,5 steps down I have to spend some time figuring out what notes that would be from low to high. The one I mentioned is much more intuitive. If somebody mentiones BADGBE as Drop B they should specify what they mean.

My Champion is most likely Eb Standard.
Crows on a wire (preview) sounds like Drop C. Since they've said that tuning would be used on the album. It could also be A#/G#.

The Other Side might be Drop A# or A#G#C#F#A#D#

So from the Jasta interview on Cradle to the grave Myles used "G minor" open g down a whole half step with b down to bb. Mark uses a crazy tuning on This side of fate. Also Myles on Show me a leader is drop db.

A whole half step. Thats so confusing to me even after 7 years of playing. Do you mean, a whopping, half step? Or a step and a half.

Honestly I'm confused on that one too, those were his exact words unless I heard wrong.

Crows on a wire = Drop C (Mark said they used Drop C instead of B/C# on this album)
The Writing on the Wall = Lowest note is A#, so it's either played on a 7 string half step down or Drop A# 6 string

Poison in Your vains = sounds like Drop C as well

Are we allowed to suggest tunings of unreleased tunes?
