I hope he sticks to his previous idea in wanting to release a more affordable signature amp. If it's in the $750-$1000 range, I'll be interested in checking it out.

Yeah that would be cool. If it's in the Archon price-range then never mind haha!

I can't imagine a PRS amp going for under 1k. Unless Mark does a lunch box head like Jim Root did with Orange.

I'd be interested in that. I have a 5150 III 50 watt and it's totally wasted at the size of gigs I do. Damn thing never gets above 3 or 4 on volume. I'd def buy a 20/25 watt Tremonti lunchbox head, I also hate lugging full size heads or combos around to rehearsal.

That black gold wrap is sex! Love the mismatched pups too.

I can't decide whether the green one is awesome, ugly or both.

Yeah. I'm thinking of doing the same. Leaving my Peavey at Church, and getting a Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister for home.

Just bought the Hughes and Kettner 1x12 to go with my orange micro dark. That is until I get enough money saved back for the Tubemeister 18.

None of you Peavey Vypyr people would want to acquire a Sanpera 2 footswitch at a discount would you? I have no need for it in a church setting. I've only used it a few times.

Got the Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 20 deluxe to go with my H&k 1x12, for my home rig. Should be here by Tuesday. The demos sound amazing.

Those are solid sounding amps. I've tossed around the idea of getting something like that to keep in my room for practice.

Yeah. I got it for the Redbox feature. I want to record my riffs and ideas. Once I figure it all out, I'll post some clips on here.

More gear than I should have considering my skill level lol.

Guitars:
- 2014 PRS Custom 24 (Leprechaun Tooth Green)
- 2014 Fender American Special Stratocaster (Surf Green)
- Squier Jim Root Telecaster (matte black)

Amps:
- 2004 Mesa Dual Rectifier (3-channel)
- Orange PPC212 cabinet
- Vox NT15C1-CL (Night Train combo, classic grille cloth)
- Orange OR15 (which died 2 months after I bought it used. It's in the shop right now. Selling the pos as soon as it's repaired)

Pedals:
- EB MVP volume
- Dunlop Cry Baby Mini
- Earthquakes Devices Palisades
- Hungry Robot LG
- Walrus Audio Julia
- Source Audio Nemesis
- Red Panda Context
- Digitech Trio+

Had a Montreal Count to Five pedal but recently sold it for $300. Planning to sell the OR15 and Vox (along with a Schecter guitar and possibly my POD HD500) and buy a PRS Archon.

I'm looking to get a new amp soon. Looking at the used market to see the best deal I can get. Ultimately it comes down to the PRS Archon vs. the Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier. I already have some thoughts and opinions on each option and am leaning one way, but I want to hear your guys' opinions. For those who have played both, what are pros and cons of both and which would you choose?

I have a feeling you'll have a harder time finding used Archons given they are newer amps. You can find used Dual Rectifiers pretty often in the $1,200 range.

I highly recommend looking at the EVH 5150 III as well. The list price for a new one is $999. From the financial standpoint, it's a tough metal amp to beat out.

I have a used Archon lined up on Reverb with a hard case for $1200. There's actually about 5-6 used of the 100-watt model which is what I'm looking for.

Was definitely considering a 5150 or 6505, but the other guitar player in my band is getting that so I want something a little bit different
