I have the same amp and it's pretty good for bedroom usage.AHart96 wrote:Line 6 Spider IV 15Waustinjhnsn wrote:What do you have?

very good for bedroom use, but not exactly the best for YT. Felt like my tone was doo doo on cameraDolo wrote:I have the same amp and it's pretty good for bedroom usage.AHart96 wrote:Line 6 Spider IV 15Waustinjhnsn wrote:What do you have?

Yeah man, especially the clean channel. Sometimes when I come up with some cool riff/melody/whatever, I capture it with my LG phone and it turns out shit.
Re: PRS Tremonti SE Custom vs. PRS Tremonti 2013
I actually like my clean channel, it's the crunch channel I'm not pleased with. For heavy distortion I use insane, but I'm not exactly huge on how it sounds

i always have a hard time with my dirty tone. sometimes i think it sounds badass, others it sounds flat and boring. clean tone is perfect. tremonti neck pickup clean is a beaut.
Thanks Timo!

The clean channel sounds pretty cool, it just turns out shit on recordings. I also use insane for heavey distortion and I add a bit of tape echo for lead parts. Metal channel is a bit too harsh imo.AHart96 wrote:I actually like my clean channel, it's the crunch channel I'm not pleased with. Agreed about the metal channel, I NEVER use it, even when practicing. For leads I like to add a hint of reverb but use a good bit of it on cleanDolo wrote:The clean channel sounds pretty cool, it just turns out shit on recordings. When I hear "clean tone" and "perfect," the Spider doesn't come to mind.austinjhnsn wrote:i always have a hard time with my dirty tone. sometimes i think it sounds badass, others it sounds flat and boring. clean tone is perfect. tremonti neck pickup clean is a beaut.
This is coming from a guy whose main amp is a Roland Cub, so I can say if a practice amp sounds awful without being high and mighty about it.

Anyone that has bought a Tremonti SE have a link to a hard shell case that will fit it well and is reasonably priced?

fender, any PRS hard shell case will do. I know they can get kind of pricey though, but hit up eBay for some potential deals.

Bought a standard PRS singlecut case for my SE for around $120 or so. Fits perfect.

AHart, finally saw your video, sounds really good! Nice tones out of the amp, especially the clean tone. I wanna get my hands on a Roland Cube for practice at home. You actually make me want to dust off my Tremonti SE and keep it even after I buy the Tremonti SE Custom and soup it up!
A little constructive criticism: It was more prevalent when you were demoing the guitar on the clean channel than the distortion, but your timing on some songs is a little off. When I say that I don't mean you have to play it up to CD speed, but maintaining the flow of the song parts you play is sooooo much more important than whether or not you can play it fast. I'm still working on little hangups learning Cry of Achilles, so it happens to the best of us. If you can play with the level of flow you need, eventually the speed will come in the repetition. Sounds really good though!
Question, is there a metronome built into the Spyder you're using? Just curious.
