No. It's only a millions times more of an interesting idea than people plodding through songs we've all heard a billion and one times.Andy92 wrote:Not really a cover album then, is it? lol

I'm up for guitar and bass. I have some of my own material to work on, looking for a drummer and vocalist. Although I'm planning to pick up Sandy if he'll sing vox for it.

Thrav and I have officially started collaborating. We're going to have a pretty badass metal track.

I really hope this is given at least a year or so. Music should not be rushed.
If all goes well, I might actually be able to participate in this one using two songs. Of course, I'd need someone to fill in for vocals.
A ballad called "Tomorrow (And I Do)"
An epic called "Journey to Hope"
The songs have already been written for months. Just need a lot of time to record them.

Ah bloody hell, I was going to give this topic about a week after the new forum rush had died down, and then start it up. Haha. All good though, glad to see there's interest in it!
As for the covers thing... I don't think we should subscribe to any one angle. If some people want to do straight covers, and some want to do "inspired" covers / interpretations, and some want to do totally original material, I think that mixture makes for a more interesting overall album. Depending on how many songs come in overall, either alternating those tracks or, as Ryan suggested, maybe a "covers EP" or something like that. I'd like to see everybody free to submit anything and everything they want to.
And myself, I'll more than likely have a solo acoustic song I'd like to throw in, but I'd also really like to do the collab thing with somebody. Kinda got a couple people in mind, if they're up for it, but we'll see.

I'm definitely in. I have a whole home studio at my disposal, so will get right in to it.
Re: Let's get started: TABN.com Community Album Volume 2
I really look forward to seeing or rather hearing what you guys will come up with. Due to my limited time (3-4 music projects, college, gf...) I won't be part of it this time although it was much fun doing volume 1 as an artists and working on it behind the curtain. However, if I get to finish the album of my newest project Piece of Mind in time, I'd love to contribute a song if I'm allowed to
Please give them a like

I'll definitely be on board with this, I'll probably be able to submit 2 origina tracks. I'll think about a cover though.

Awesome man. I'll have to throw something together over the next week or so. I'm getting married this weekend so I haven't had a lot of time to lay down tracks. But I'm determined to get something done.QwikSand wrote:Yeah dude let's do it. Send me whatever ideas you have and we will get it going.DeadCell wrote:I'm up for guitar and bass. List is updated in the first post
The idea of AB covers are good, i agree we put them on a seperate EP though.
I will also put all the songs on Bandcamp and Soundcloud by the way when the album is done.

Oh and about the covers with a different approach idea, i like it haha!
Came up with an idea for Isolation acoustic , recorded it real quick here it is:

If anybody wants to do vocals on this i'll start arranging this thing fully with drums and bass added as well

For the record, on the song me and Josiah are working on it'll be me and my roommate on guitar and bass.

Hmm. It could be done! Actually, I've always wanted to hear a soft piano / acoustic driven version of Isolation. Seems to me the lyrics fit a dark "Snuff" style song than fast hard rock.Andy92 wrote:Piano ballad of White Knuckles.itaughttremonti wrote:Covers would be weak because it wouldn't show creativity, just that you can read a tab. But...what about doing your own interpretation of an existing AB song title?
