Jebus, they got a 15+ minute closing song. This is a long album as well. 73:40. I know they got it in them to do long 8-9 minute songs and make it very compelling, but do they have it in them to go 15 minutes?

01. ‘The Stage’ (8:32)
02. ‘Paradigm’ (4:19)
03. ‘Sunny Disposition’ (6:41)
04. ‘God Damn’ (3:42)
05. ‘Creating God’ (5:35)
06. ‘Angels’ (5:41)
07. ‘Simulation’ (5:31)
08. ‘Higher’ (6:29)
09. ‘Roman Sky’ (5:00)
10. ‘Fermi Paradox’ (6:31)
11. ‘Exist’ (15:39)

I love the title "God Damn" between all those "clever" song titles :D

Is the album supposed to talk about religion? Just curious because of the song titles...

Just listened to the whole thing. I'm not an extensive A7X listener, but this record is pretty surprising. It seems as if they dropped this whole metalcore coat and focused on writing softer but more memorable songs.

Fyi, they are doing some sort of live stream today at around 8 PM PST. They're testing out some sort of VR-experience experiment or something like that.

Yea this album really is something else. Great progression from everything before. It may take a few listens to digest, but its so worth it because this is so unique, it's a great journey, with some lyrics that really get you thinking.

They already dropped their metalcore attitude with the previous album. I can barely listen to the stuff they made before Nightmare, Nightmare and Hail To The King were pretty solid albums though.
I like that The Stage had pretty much no promotion at all, not many bands can release an album basically out of nothing.
Now I'm gonna give it a shot.

Well, sort of. They turned it into Metallica, Megadeth and G'n'R rip-off party.

Not really a fan of this band but decided to still give this a try. I did love "Nightmare" so I was expecting it to at least compete with it. I have given this album about 2-3 listens now to let it digest. It's actually pretty decent. I don't think i like it overall more than I do with "Nightmare" but I do think it's better than "Hail To The King". My favorite track still remains as "Paradigm'. Some reason just can't get that song out of my head since the first listen.

Synyster Gates solo album. Sorry to say but nothing stood out for me except the solos. It feels like only Syn is evolving and the others are stagnating. Album is bland, boring, not one memorable song, melody.

It's weird cause I look at this in a completely opposite way. Songs are alright, but I find the soloing pretty bland.

Yea, Synyster Gates is a pretty bad solo-player.

Haven't listened to the album yet, but I heard a few songs on Octane today. The ones I heard were okay, nothing blew me away. More interesting sounding that HTTK (which was a really straightforward album for the most part). But I guess I miss the band's more aggressive style that they used to have in Waking the Fallen and City of Evil. Different tastes for everyone though, I know some people don't get into that style as much. But they were one of the best in the business at what they did.

I think I've accepted that they're not going back to that sound, because they are always evolving, which is great. What matters most to me, and this goes for any band, is that they're still putting out a genuine product. I think the message this album has is super important.

The album is really good. It took me 2 or 3 songs to get into it (aside from the title track), but somewhere between Creating God and Angels I felt in love with this album. Those two songs with Simulation afterwards are one hell of a trio. Roman Sky is fantastic as well!
