The Official Switchfoot Thread

Just started listening to them not too long ago. Really like them. They're good with soft stuff, but they can be a bit fast pace sometimes for a nice change.

HELLO HURRICANE is a really excellent album. Was less impressed with VICE VERSES, but it still had some awesome tunes on there.

Saw these guys headline a festival a couple years ago. They were the best band of the night by far...then Skillet closed the next night and took the roof off lol.

All right, bumping this thread because I could always use a new band to listen to. I've only heard of one song by them and that's because it was a WWE PPV theme song back in 2009. So what do you guys think their best album would be for a 1st time listener to listen to?

Man, ever since I watched that Yahoo live stream replay of one of their shows, a few weeks, I've been listening to more and more of their stuff, and gained a better appreciation of Fading West.

Really liked, When We Come Alive, Let It Out, Love Is Worth the Fight, and Slipping Away. Sure it has various pop elements, but that's all right for me.

So, just recently listened to their latest album, When The Light Shines Through. I think it's a solid step up from Fading West (which had some all right songs, but it felt like it was too poppy for me to really enjoy it). It was very laid-back and very anthemic. For the most part, the message is clear. We just got to keep going in amidst of the darker parts of our lives and not give up in finding that light.

Favorites so far are I Won't Let You Go, If The House Burns Down Tonight, Shake This Feeling, Live It Well, and Hope is The Anthem.

Jon Foreman is one of the best all time. Native Tongue was such an incredible album start to finish too. They've had some amazing momentum lately.

Oh yeah, absolutely. I saw their show at the Wiltern in LA, last April. Was for the longest time, my favorite show of the year and then I saw Iron Maiden and AB (twice for AB) in a week that overtook the Switchfoot show. I'm seeing them again in Riverside in November and I liked they are doing two sets. One acoustic and one electric. I wish more bands can bring out that kind of tour more often, especially a certain band here......
