Love this double album trend. Everybody seems to be doing it right now: Like a Storm, Coheed, Neverending White Lights, Stone Sour. Crazy.

I think they're really anxious to get some songs out (delays due to touring so much and drummer change I guess). If most of their sales are digital or at live shows, makes sense to do it this way.

So, if you preorder, you get an instant download of the album? Right now? Because last time I checked, this album was supposed to be out a month ago.

I preordered a few weeks ago and I got the download info by email this weekend. But you might get it fast now? They've been recording on the road and Kent said in an interview yesterday they just got the master Thursday night.
Which reminds me, acoustic set on a local morning TV show Friday:

Yeah, first 7 tracks, will be three more on the CD. Email said preorders were getting it a few days before it was up for public sale, so I guess they'll have it up on iTunes or their website this week. They only have previews of a couple of tracks up now, though they posted more previews on their facebook page long ago. I'd have to dig around to find that link.

Similar to their first album in that there's a variety of styles. 4 heavy songs (mostly Chris on lead vocals, I like those tracks the best so far), a couple of ballads (mostly Matt on lead vocals), one that reminds me of old Linkin Park (my least favorite). From 3 min to 6 minute tracks. A little didgeridoo.

For those who understand production aspects: self-produced, mixing by Elvis Baskette and additional mixing and engineering by their new drummer Roye, mastered by Brad Blackwood (Three Days Grace).

Never Surrender they've been playing live for a while (linked up page)

I'm very excited to hear this.

The Butler NJ show is about 2hrs for me but unfortunately I can't make it. I wish they'd add a Philly date. They have plenty of off days!

The whole album is streaming here: http://soundcloud.com/likeastormofficia ... eory-pt-1/

It's alright. Not bad, but probably not worth paying $10 for, especially considering that there doesn't seem to be an option that gives you both albums for cheaper. At only 32 minutes and 7 tracks, it really does feel like half an album, and I'm not liking it enough right now to pay for two albums of it. Plus, that "Gangster's Paradise" cover is massively unnecessary.

Unless that second half is really damn good, I think they would have been better off just turning in a single album with 11 or 12 tracks.

As I said above, 7 tracks digital download, all 10 when they send the CD. From the email I got "The folder contains the 7 brand new tracks, and the remaining 3 bonus tracks will be on the hard copy sent out to you once manufactured." So not paying twice. But if you're not crazy about it, don't buy, or buy single tracks later when it's on iTunes and Amazon.

Don't think I'll make it to this one, wish it was closer or in a city where I could visit friends. They did post that the show was nearly sold out, so that's great for them even if it's a small venue.

Just seems like an odd tactic. I mean, I get just trying to finally get something out there for the fans after all this time, but since you've waited so long as it is, why release a stream of an incomplete album? Ah well. Maybe I'll like it more on repeat listens. I did really enjoy their debut.
