I wonder if they're still a band.
Until we get an answer about that, here's an interview from last april about the recording of the album.

They may be a band that's inactive right now.

I hear Bumblefoot will commit a good amount of 2018 touring with Sons of Apollo (has Jeff Scott Soto, Billy Sheehan, Mike Portnoy, and Derek Sherinian).

AoA always seemed to me as a side project for its members, SS, Bumblefoot and Moyer all have other things they were part of before this record so I never believed it wouldn't go on hiatus periodically. Similar to how AB will take a break and Mark will put out a solo record and then go back to AB. I think they are still a band but we wont hear from them probably until 2019 in my opinion. Right now it seems to me that SS is planning a solo record next and like anguyen92 said about Bumblefoot having other plans for 2018 as well.

John Moyer is in so many bands now it's hard to keep track. lol I think Disturbed is about to pick back up again too... so I doubt this band will be doing anything anytime soon. I'm anxious to hear Scott's next album though. He sounds a lot better vocally and I thought Proof of Life was very well produced. *other than that cringe Rockstar song about Jesus* :facepalm

Welp for Stapp..........

https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/ge ... llion.html

Btw, if that article link seems misleading, no, Stapp is not being sued for 12 million. It's 1.2 million dollars.

Also, Bumblefoot's actual name is Ronald Jay Blumenthal.

I find this lawsuite completely ridiculous.
They released a (good) album, and it was clear from the start it wouldn't be succesful. The audience just didn't care about it, and everyone made it clear in the interviews it was a side project and they were still committed to their other bands.
If Stapp had dedicated himself to Art of Anarchy with the same fervor that he dedicated to his solo career, Art of Anarchy would have had a successful concert tour and its record contract would not have been terminated.
What a ridiculous claim!
Scott's failure to talk up the band on social media and instead promote his own participation in the tour "resulted in minimal attendance and canceled dates."
Social media is overrated.
There was just no audience for a new band with Scott Stapp in 2017.

Why am I not surprised that this lawsuit is filed by the 2 twins who never did anything else before in their career?
They're shooting themselves in the foot, because nobody will ever want to be work with them in the future.
Instead of filing a desperate and pathetic lawsuit in order to squeeze some money from another band member, they should have started another band or done something else with their lifes.

A contract is a contract.

And this
Finally, the complaint notes that the band's recording contract was cancelled at the end of October and that Stapp also neglected to repay a $200,000 loan from Vice, denying its existence.
isn't something easily swept aside.
For all of the hope that it brings...

You've got a point.
But IMHO, they should sue him for 200,000 dollars (and damages) then. Not 1.2 million.

One thing I don't get is if Bumblefoot had such an issue about Stapp touring so much, then WHY the fuck did he tour with him on Stapps solo tour? A lot of this suit just seems like bitter people reacting after the fact.

Some of these claims are unprovable in court. Maybe there was a good reason why Weiland didn't stick with these guys

From what I understand, this lawsuit was not filed by the whole band, but only by the twin brothers.

Funnily, this is what Bumblefoot had to say 3 years ago when Weiland distanced himself from that band.
ART OF ANARCHY is not competition or a threat or interference to what any of us are doing — it's a complement, an addition.
He should have sent a memo to the Votta brothers.

It sounds like the brothers are the problem. Did they ever get any money out of Weiland?

I haven't looked into it, but I doubt it, since he died not too along afterwards.
