In fairness, I was not a fan of STP or him in general, but it's a really sucky thing to hear that he could not overcome his demons and make amends with his former bands even if they probably didn't want to work with him, anymore. These sorts of news makes you really reflect on the measure of a life and so forth.

Nice brief tributes to him by Myles, Todd, so many other musicians.

Sad news. He was only 48. STP is one of my favorite bands and Interstate Love Song is what I'd call a perfect rock song. Will definitely be listening to STP discography later today. RIP Weiland.

Despite all his problems I always hoped this news would never come. I'm kind of at a loss for words, just so fucking sad.

Saw him at Rock on the Range earlier this year and he really wasn't himself at all. Such a powerful voice and gifted songwriter, and it's sad that it all ended this way.

R.I.P.

Kitchenware & Candybars and Atlanta are two of the best songs ever.

I'm friends with a concert photographer/reviewer who was really disturbed by seeing him around then. Lots of surliness, some being out of it, but also moments of brilliance.

Last friday after we found out, a friend and I broke out in an impromptu acapella version of Vasoline at work. Had to blast Core on the drive home.

I'm glad you posted this. William DuVall from AiC had posted the song when Scott died, then the link to the page when the band posted, but only saw the soundcloud at the bottom (I think I was on my phone at the time).

I like their commentary about the recording process too. Overdubbing of extra instruments, yes, click tracks and a zillion effects, no. Scott's vocals alone are beautiful, not robotically perfect, but beautiful.

For some reason this song popped in my head this evening. Went back to that web page and noticed a certain person familiar to this forum on the credits.
