This picture makes me so happy.

Clean =/= Micky. I think he sounds amazing. He looks really healthy and happy as well. Usually he starts tours pretty weak as well, so I'm super excited about all of this.

Hearing Slash play songs like November Rain, Estranged and Don't Cry again :cloud9

He fell on stage during Troubadour show and broke something in his foot. It's not that serious, he is going to walk again normal in 3 weeks

Coma is a beast of a song, it was Slash's baby apparently during the Illusions period.

The last 2 minute outro on the studio version kicks my ass every time I hear it.

Coma, Locomotive and Double Talkin' Jive. These songs take Gn'R to an whole another level.

Estranged and November Rain as well. They're a bit more known, but both those songs showed that GNR were so much more than just another 80's glam rock/hair metal band back when the Illusion albums were released.

:yeahthat

Estranged and November Rain go without saying and I'm very sparing with words. :P

Too bad the Illusion albums have too many meh songs. Just imagine all the songs were on the level of Coma and Locomotive...

Both albums are just really long. It's a classic case of a band writing too many songs and deciding to release all of them. Appetite is 55 minutes and the Illusion albums are both like 75 minutes. They could've easily cut 20-25 minutes from each record. They could've released the rest as B-sides, kinda like the G N' R Lies album.

I don't think the meh songs are "too" many.

Yea, I wouldn't call them meh songs. Just less spectacular than the rest. If you take Civil War, November Rain, Estranged, Coma, Locomotive, Breakdown, Don't Cry, Double Talkin' Jive, You Could Be Mine, Yesterdays, So Fine and Get In The Ring you already have over 70 minutes of mind blowing music.

I really like some of the other songs as well, but I don't think they get close to the rest of the albums or anything on Appetite. I might be forgetting a few now though.

Yeah, putting out a single, shorter album of top, top quality material is always preferable to watering it down over two releases in my view. It makes me wary of going and listening to it because I know I'll be having to skip a lot. I'm a lazy listener.

Don't Damn Me has one of the most amazing riffs ever imo. That song in general kicks ass.
Shotgun Blues on the other hand is one of the best examples for "meh" UYI songs.

When I first heard Don't Damn Me, it had my full attention from the first second owing to that riff. The solo is pretty tight as well. Great song in general. I think they've never played it live.
