The Official IRON MAIDEN Thread

Post by endofsilence93 »

Image
Since I haven't seen any around I figured why not create an Official Iron Maiden Thread. If there is one then I apoligize. With the anticipation around their 16th album "The Book of Souls" feel free to express what's your favorite songs by Iron Maiden? What are your favorite albums? Anything Iron Maiden related!

Oh by the way for those who may not know, Iron Maiden will be releasing their first single "Speed of Light" on August 14!!

Yep, I am excited for this. Probably will buy this when it comes out and then listen to it, without listening to any streams, the week before.

Here's a small preview of this.

I'm thinking that was the snippet for Speed of Light.

The Speed of Light is out. The video has Eddie being in all sorts of video game worlds.

As for the song itself, it's all right. It's a lead single song. A good enough song that gets you hyped for the album, but you just hope that there's a lot of better songs in the album, which is most likely given what these guys are capable of.

I actually enjoyed this song. I don't really see particularly why there's a lot of hate on it. I'm sure for the haters it is a lot better than what they expected from the previous album since they have so much hatred towards it. The song is pretty catchy and all. Bruce Dickinson sounds pretty good on top of that.

It actually disgusts me that I see people knocking down Bruce Dickinson vocals when I didn't really even hear anything wrong with them. Hell, this is someone who overcame throat cancer. That's impressive in my books.

Well, it's only one week left, I shall just wait it out and buy it at Best Buy. I saw on the Best Buy site that there's a Deluxe Edition and I'm wondering what that includes?

Just got through with listening to the whole album. Loved it! I was one of those who didn't mind 'The Final Frontier' but this album easily tops it.

Haven't had the chance to listen to the whole thing yet, but from what I've heard, I could agree with that ^

Just noticed that 'Shadows of the Valley' intro sounds just like 'Wasted Years'.

Man, I did not think that any album would be more enjoyable than Mark's Cauterize album, but somehow, this album did it. It felt one of those albums that Iron Maiden really played well to their strengths and deliver a tremendous album. I felt like there was no song that I felt I did not like. It's still a lot to take in and a lot of re-listening though to really get a solid vibe of the songs.

Here are my favorites so far. Will be ever-changing of course.

If Eternity Should Fail. The Red and the Black, When the River Runs Deep, Tears of a Clown, and Empire of the Clouds.

Good to see I am not the only one who considered "When The River Runs Deep" as one of their favorites from the new album. I do agree that there is not one song that wasn't likable. They really did a superb job. Mixed in old-school with modern-day and got this one long ass album.
